They did the same **** with Liddell...ALL his opponents (after he became a champion) were in great majority tailor made for him. Not because they were garbage , but simply because of their style.

And as soon as they gave him an "anti-liddell" opponent...it was all over. Was anyone really surprised by Liddell's loss against Jackson in 2007 ? (past prime or not) the same Jackson who defeated Liddell in Pride in 2003 ?....

And once a fighter starts losing his confidence....

when a fighter starts fighting scared , or when he gets too cautious....Then it's the beginning of the end. What happened after Liddell lost to Jackson a 2nd time ? He lost against Jardine.

What happened after Fedor lost to Werdum ?
Or when Arlovsky lost to Fedor ?

It's a combination of aging + losing confidence + dangerous match ups...
(in arlovski's case , his chin also plays a big part)

Right now...The 37 yr old Anderson Silva is ultra-confident. (to the point where he can dance or keep his hands down to his waist , something he wouldn't do in Pride or Cage rage)...Just watch his fights against Carlos Newton , Chonan , Takase , Sakurai , Fryklund , Lee Murray etc.....He used to be more aggressive , focused than he is today... He had an unpleasant surprise with Sonnen....(maybe he'll be more ready if they ever have a rematch)...

Quite easily. The best name on Anderson's list if Henderson who should never have been fighting at MW to begin with. Fedor beat a prime Nog twice and CroCop. Please explain how Silva has beaten better opposition?

Prime Nog and Mirko are the only two names on that list that even begin to compare to modern HWs. The rest are one-dimensional bums and freaks.

    Silva has beaten.....

Hendo- Olympic wrestler and owner of the most devastating right hand in MMA history. In case you forgot he's a natural MW that shattered your hero Fedor's Glass Jaw.

Franklin 2x- Franklin was a very good and well-rounded fighter that, while falling short to the very most elite fighters he faced, did put in an impressive body of work in two divisions and he was absolutely raped like a chump against Silva.

Maia- BJJ virtuoso and ADCC champ. He got owned.

Sonnen- 2-time national Greco champ and silver medalist at Worlds.

Belfort- One of the only comparable strikers at 185. It wasn't close.

Griffin- Former 205 lb champ. Starched by a jab.

And the rest were all good fighters and fringe contenders, no freaks to be found. Fedor was a great HW, the best so far, but he was never infallible and HW really ****ing sucked until the last three years or so.

I think you'll have to go to the next level of analysis. Fedor beat Nog and Mirko in tough fights, esp the latter.

Given the same level of opposition, Silva destroys them.

Because the MW division is so great? How I see it Fedor has the better wins, he beat the 2 best HW's ever (excluding himself) in their prime. Everyone knows its the wins over other greats that legacy is biased, or if not it is longevity which also goes to Fedor. Anderson loss a few fights and his longest winning streak is 15, quite a distance from Fedors who went his whole career until getting old without a legit loss.I understand that Fedor fought some cans but that doesn't take away from his wins over good opposition! Its a pity we never saw a prime Fedor in the last 3 years that where so great, where he could have fought such great champions such as Mir and Lesnar

Two wins over one great and a win over another guy that was unquestionably overhyped does not make for a stronger resume than a guy who has been undefeated since 2004 all the while facing the best competition to be found in his division and also going up a division for a couple fights, one being against the former champ.

Really, Fedor was a great fighter but his resume is weak as **** compared to Anderson's and unless Anderson goes around getting KTFOed by blown-up LWs and WWs, he can't **** on the end of his career anywhere near as bad as Fedor did his.

Your first post on this thread was too dumb to justify spending the time necessary to read this ridiculously long post. Try being concise next time. And not a cretin. :good

BTW I cant ****ing stand Anderson Silva and Fedor is as classy as it gets.

But Silva is the GOAT (Skills and Resume) and it will stand until Jon Jones caves his face in with elbows.

I suggest you at least do him the honour and read it. BoxingCar is a student of this sport. You'll find every point he makes is on point.

I got all the way to the first point he made on this thread, and I don't think it's remotely on point, hence my scorn thereafter:

To imply that Anderson Silva's own attributes are immaterial and that he's just a guy looking good beating up worthless cans is ****ing nonsense. ******ed ****.

I guess we will have to disagree.Maybe unfairly I just can't see the GOAT not having a win over another prime great
