Edwin Valero - in between C+/B-
Cassius Baloyi - haven't seen enough
    Alex Arthur - between C/C+
    Mzonke Fana - C
Rocky Juarez - B (he fights like a B- level fighter when he's not highly motivated though)
    Kevin Mitchell - C
Roman Martinez - I've watched 1-2 of his fights, but don't remember him well
Malcolm Klassen - never seen him
    Billy Dib - C-

Can you do the same with these fighters and Jiminez?

I would rate Jiminez between C+/B-, but closer to B- and the point is, his abilities/skills are a solid B, plus he has a very good chi, the only reason he drops down a level is because he's always had workrate/stamina issues. Skillwise, he's clearly a level or two above fighters like Arthur. BTW I would favor him over all of the fighters you listed, except for Juarez, who would have some trouble in the early rounds but win a 9-3 type of decision by outworking him and breaking him down.

The only negatives I saw were 1) he keeps his hands down before throwing and after throwing, making him vulnerable to counterpunches and 2) he throws some unnecessary punches. Jimenez caught them on his gloves, but if Gamboa sacraficed these 10 punch flurries for accurate combinations to the body and the head, he'd be more effective. These are things he can fix, and I expect them to be taken care of.

There isnt a doubt in my mind that Gamboa has the skill and package to be a World Champion. He's very impressive in all aspects. EVEN DEFENSE when he chooses it.

Yet the real flaw in his makeup is the attitude with which he fights. Dont get me wrong, I love his fire. But he gets too confident, cocky, and doesnt respect that ANYTHING can happen.

Jimenez hopefully taught him a lesson, although I doubt it did. I dont believe his nature will change from it but hope it does a bit. If he doesnt? He'll end up a guy who had it all but couldnt put it all together.

If he fought Pac or JMM inside the next year? Gamboa's getting TKO'd with the hands down, lacsidaisical, approach to defense he showed us last night. If he tightens it, and DEVELOP's? We could be looking at a REAL and TRUE WORLD CHAMPION.

We'll C and it'll definitely be worth watching either way:good

Huki? Guzman vs Gamboa? Who ya got?? From what I saw last night? I'm still not sure Gamboa pulls it off. IMO, its still 2 early for it. Jimenez while tough and decent, AINT at that level. Gamboa would have in his favor that Guzman isnt a 1 punch KO type. His power isnt SUPERB. Gamboa is very active and I agree it'll make a VERY EXCITING fight. Yet? If your trying to get Gamboa ready? They better take a few more steps:yep

You must of been sleeping when you wrote this answer. Camacho would have put Gamboa to sleep if he had been the prime 130 fighter that he was for last night. Let Gamboa breath. He needs to get back to where he suppose to be at fighting eight rounders until he is ready. Some of you guys are calling Jimenez a B and even as low as C. Well, it does not say much for Gamboa then if he got dropped by a C fighter who has not fought in over a year mind you. Gamboa vs Guzman for next year? He first needs to learn how to keep his hands up. Believe me, it is not easy to learn to keep your hands up if your use to fighting the way he does for so many years. Second, someone get him a trainer without that damn sponge. Third and most importantly is to slow down the pace. Their going to push him into the ring to fast with a B fighter and he will get exposed.

Forget prime mature camacho the 9-0 camacho vs. this 9-0 gamboa would be a blowout ... camacho would have a field day with this guy ....

Camacho's jab and straight left right hooks and body work and quick feet would eat this guy alive ... how is he going to avoid camacho's quick a$$ hands ? Also Camacho at that weight could make u miss and punch with you something Jimenez could not do ....

Not just Camacho but the 9-0 mayweather at 130 would destroy Gamboa too .....

Gamboa isn't ready to be mentioned in the same breath as the greats yet he needs to kill that terrible habit of droppin his hands and I commend his belief in himself but he just won't make it very far with that style

People say he's like Tyson ? No way man not even close to the same power or style ...yeah he moves his head a little but not nearly as well as tyson did in his prime and tyson kept his dam hands up while bobbing and weaving

Roy Jones comparisons give me a break .... he's no roy jones darling jimenez proved that with those flush shots he landed

Meldrick Taylor ? Maybe the closest resemblance to compare Gamboa but still Taylor didn't fight soo careless .....

I like Gamboa hopefully he will work on his defense and learn to respect his opponents a little more you have to be confident but he seems a bit too overconfident 10 more fights and I hope he is ready for some lower tiered top guys

You people will be eating your words in time. Never have I seen such hate after a dominant performance. All of the greats have had sub-par performances, be them early career of even prime. This is a learning experience. His talent is still through the roof.

    You people??:huh

Aint no C$ in that group. I like Gamboa, appreciate the ability he's displayed, but he did get a little dose of reality. Which indicates he better put it all together. Or risk blowing what could be a magnificent career.

Seems that some, myself included, are simply giving some constructive criticism aimed at achieving the ultimate prize.

exactly ...people are claiming he is perfect ... that he is a tyson, meldrick taylor, pernel whitaker, roy jones jr. hybrid all in one its ridiculous ! Its just not true but you know what he is though .... he is Yuriokis Gamboa a guy with alot of potential but with 1 or 2 really BAD habits that need to stop NOW before he moves up in class ....

    Thanks! :good

gamboa's still his impressive self, fast hands and low. he likes to headhunt more. but one thing i noticed is he improved his stamina. he didn't get winded unlike the de jesus fight. good fight even with the knockdown. he should learn from this. and there's no way he would beat pac or marquez at the end of this year. a lot of hype was cast upon this kid already that explains some disappointment from some fans.

    What reality?

I have acknowledged he has flaws and needs to work on them. But with his drive and potential, up is the only way to go. The detractors are just as guilty of assuming as the believers.
