* My respect for Forbes went up ten fold. The guy is a super slick fighter. Berto threw the whole arsenal at him and he was able to avoid getting hit flush most of the time and landed quite a bit of well timed counters. * Berto needs to utilize some feints in his attack. He's way too predictable in his attack. He just jumps in, leaving himself exposed. If Forbes had any power, he might've been KOed. * Berto still has the talent to do great things but he seriously needs to polish his game more. He needs to be more selective with his attack. Not just come jumping in. As mentioned above, utilize the feint. Use the jab to set something up instead of just using it as a scoring punch. * I don't know if Forbes is that good at avoiding punches or if Berto's accuracy is that bad but Berto looked somewhat amatuerish at times with his punches. Just missing so often. * Berto doesn't belong in the ring with the "elite" at WW right now. He needs to polish his game. Thoughts?
Agreed. I think he'll struggle against the best welterweights regardless. Forbes defence and chin impress me.
Forbes does a decent job of using the distance to his advantage, but he's not active enough to put you in a world of trouble, he's more in the zone of not being hit and not hitting, than not being hit and hit. I still think Berto could've put him away if he was a bit more relaxed from the beginning, gone to that body and came back with the uppercuts. Forbes is a decent boxer with a good chin, an above-average gatekeeper.
Lets just wait and see how Berto does against Collazo....if he even takes the fight.....as far as slickness is concerned Collazo makes Forbes look crude and I would give Collazo a serious shot at winning the fight.....Berto looked ok in beating Forbes nothing more....his stamina looked like ****, he was holding after the 4th round.....everything besides his stamina(which sucked) was mediocre
HUH????????????? I thought one of the few bright spots about Berto was his incredible stamina. The way he kept pressure on Forbes for 12 rounds while sitting on most of his punches was impressive. The announcers were talking about how he would hold up this pace but he was able to do it.
The "Sweet Science" happened. He used Berto's aggressiveness against him by timing him and letting him run into Forbes' punches.
Why are you talking about Hatton? What does Hatton have to do with a ****ing thing here? I'm not necessarily praising Collazo but as far as Berto beating him I'm not sure? Why are you hating on Collazo? Do you not like him? I'm glad you feel Hatton won their fight however I feel Hatton lost by 2 rounds...Anyhow to the thread topic.....I think Collazo will be the real test for Berto, he has decent speed, above average power, and is a slippery southpaw...
Wow, Berto was gassed and holding from the 4th round on! Are you blind? Berto fought in very short spurts and would hold repeatedly. What were you on last nite? Incredible stamina? :-(
He was on a dose of Manny Stewards comments regarding Bertos stamina. It's good but definitely not incredible.
Was he going "Whoo!" when he was throwing punches? I kept hearing this strange yelping sound, especially during combos. Sometimes it'd be like "Whoowhoowhoo" In quick succession and sometimes it was like one long continuous WHHOOooOOoOOoOoOOoOoOoOOO!". If that's Berto, he needs to cut that **** out.
Yes . . . I agree on that 100% . . . and yet we have some ignoramus in here . . . saying that Berto needs to fight step up in competition and fight the other title holders rightnow. Sadistic MOFO's
