I have to say that when i first heard about this match up i thought that Paulie was gonna school ricky hatton, perhaps even getting a rare KO for himself. However, this was based solely on his matchup with Cotto, and what i didn't realise is at 140lb, Ricky Hatton's style is perhaps the most effective.

Against Cotto, i noticed that Malignaggi was pot shotting him quite alot with Cotto standing in range. I don't think this will happen against Hatton as his footwork will be so much faster than Cotto's allowing him to cut off the ring quickly.

Cotto was weight drained and needed a lot of moments of rest which he gladly took whenever Paulie clinched him, which happened quite often. I think Ricky Hatton is fighting at his natural weight at 140 and will not allow himself to be clinched as much as Cotto did.

Cotto didn't throw nearly enough body shots, and this is really where Ricky Hatton excels.

I just want to say that i think Ricky Hatton sucks, and i don't know why everyone thinks he is such a great guy, especially after being so bitter in defeat against Mayweather. But having reconsidered things, i think he has the edge in this. I hope Paulie kicks his butt though

    Any thoughts??

Malinaggi is not on Hattons level, although Hatton has gone back a bit. Still, Ricky wins a decision, because Paul has not the power to hold him off.

It's only the general public that adore Ricky, because he is a typical English lad really; a boozer who likes a fight.

Most boxing fans don't like his style, and then you get the haters who think he is the first boxer to ever try and make money. I personally think he is an okay guy, but could've done a lot more taking better care of himself. At least he ****ed Frank Warren off before it was too late a la JC.

Hatton has looked terrible in his last few fights. I could see Paulie winning this.

it would hardly be upset of the century if Paulie outboxes him but I reckon Rickys still got just about enough in the tank to grind out a win.

after watching the ngoudjo fight i thought "whats all this about him being a slick boxer??" i seriously thought the fight was perhaps a draw or only slightly in favour of paulie.no way did the judges get the scores right.

then when he was in manchester he looked awful, i know the hair had a part to play but he still didnt dominate like he did in the 1st fight.

for me his last 2 fights have shown he's not as fast or slick as people will have you believe, maybe its just a glitch but i think hatton is far better than ngoudjo and ndou which paulie struggled against.

Agreed both fighters last fights they've looked poor, I think Malignaggi can win on points if he out "slicks" hatton, keeps him at range and keeps moving but I'm thinking its gonna be a dissapointing fight Hatton by UD.

Is mayweather Sr. training him on this fight or is that only for future fights?

Malignaggi was appalling in his last fight. Ricky was no show stopper himself but he will do the business come fight night, and then the showdown with Pacman will be underway.

Paulie ain't much good and has feather fists, but I still think he has enough, combined with Hatton's disruptions, to shatter Hatton's glass chin with one of his bigger shots.

Neither guy was too impressive last time out.

This fight should stink like goat ****.

This has to be one of the least appealing matches between top fighters in years.

I reckon Hatton holds, wrestles, and imitates Ruiz on his way to a boring decision.

If Paulie wins it isn't much of an upset at all.
