He was punched 45 secs in, he threw Haye to the ground at 55 secs, so he had at least 13 secs to recover.... since when are boxers allowed to hold onto an opponent for 10 full seconds after they have recieved a punch, ref actually moaned at Haye I think. And I am not saying Vlad was hurt, I am questioning why the ref didn't tell him to release Haye when he was holding on for 10 full seconds...
:deal Well put. The fight was won on the volume that Wlad put out as opposed to Hayes relative inactivity. If Haye had thrown caution to the wind and approached the entire fight like that 12th round then it would have been a closer fight (although chances are one of them, either one, would have probably been KTFO) but he didn't and he paid the price. I liked Dwyers take on the fight, it's pretty much my take on it too. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgnmWk_KnZw&feature=feedu[/ame] I'm downloading the fight now to rewatch in the cold light of day so maybe I'll see something different.
I dont think Wlad was not hurt in the 12th at all little stunned maybe but nothing serious. I was really surprised how well Wlad took Hayes punches. In the mid rounds Haye landed beautiful short counter flush and Wlad just walked through it.
I remember coming on ESB a couple of crashes before the date where I am listed. Back then it was a very calm highly intellegent class of boxing fans. I left the old Boxing Com, the first one I'd been to...where I'd been exposed the first time to the blind rage and hate; was partially, jingoistically and racially movatated. Back then on that other com, Jones was God when Tyson wasn't in shape. More and more stupid boxing ignorant posters drove me to the cool and calm ESB. Then that boxing com died and the idiots illlegally migrated to here. They have brought a second generation of hating ignorant of boxing 'fans' here too. Lenox who is now so well liked was hated as much as DHL. I could never understand the hate for DHL, he fought the very best fighters he could lay his hands on...all of them...not dodging any one. Sometimes he lost close fights. Lenox was so boring. Hated for speaking an understandable English and not being American and not being Tyson, balls to the wall..... chin checkers....wow what a wonderful hook...did you see how hard he him in the gloves. DM was totally hated by Jones fans.... But that's another story. The K-bros, were hated for race and nationality, before any of them ever saw them, hated from the 6-8-10 round local Geramn fights. Still hated...odd that. It's not just them, it's the us or them....like the hate politics on the Lounge, it's pure hate of fighters....I'm a fan therefore I hate......gee, back in the Old Days, I was a fan, I watched fights. Some times my man won, some times he lost..... I can never understand the rabid hate of the modern idiot generation. It must be the net...folks say saftly things they would never dare say to some one's face. Drunk fans at a bar were more polite than many idiots here. They had to be, they were living in reality of a hard fist to the nose days....for being that much a mouth in real life. There were lots of big time fights in the old day's that didn't pan out. Many of them were good... perhaps better in there was just a champion, and a single line of hungry contenders who battled their way up that single list, and battled to stay up so they might again get a crack at the Champion...and made decent contender money. So we had more compeditive fights mostly; with hungery contenders who had to fight often to become #1 and fight the champion. I remember being disapointed when Joe Frazer reached down to 10-12 for Daniels and a pocket change fight.. Today that Daniels would be rated at 5 or 6 in a couple of belts factory lists if he paid to get listed. No wonder you get pissed off, paying money to watch some number twelve contender fight a belt champ. Perhaps it's the contenders getting them selves listed in what ever belt factory of what ever champion they think they can beat, and not listed under a champion they don't think they can beat. Is that the reason for so much hate? Or do you just hate your self? Trash talking when I was young.,...was "I'm going to murder the bum"....not the 'cool' garbage mouth of today. I disliked Clay's trash talk...it was not the behavior of a champion. Dick Tiger's promotion of a fight was...I think it's going to be an intersting fight. Of course he was great. We talked boxing. When I was a little kid boxing was still #2 sport in America. It was on free TV all the time in the '50's. The fact that Neilson rating company did not put the boxes in the bars were men went to watch boxing...helped kill boxing. I am of a different time. I never bet the fights until I was nine and could finally lay my hands on something called an allowance. Sure I jumped on "mouth" Haye a bit...did say his speed really impressed me. I was a Patterson fan from Moore to the last fight with Ali. I was a K-bro fan from the times I saw them in 6-8 round fights in Germany.....just because a man I'm a fan is gets beat it's part of the game. Does he come back...great...does the beating break his spirit...too bad.... That happens in boxing. Boxing is also a mentally storng game. As long as he comes in in shape and gives his best, and goes out on his shield. I'm still his fan. He comes in fat looking for a payday....I'm no longer a fan of his. He didn't respect me enough to give me his best.... I can't understand '''he's a bum, he got beat a couple of times".. Back in lower paid days, many a champion became champion after being beaten a few times....that is what happens when you get matched in a good fight against another good man....one man loses. Back when you had to fight regular to eat. I use to bet fights....until they stopped carrying the body stats in the newspapers....after than I only bet big fights here and there. Hate makes you blind when you watch a fight. You see only the hits your man puts on the other and none he puts on yours. You miss half the fight. I don't come here very much any more....too many hate filled ignorant idiots. There are a number of to me new posters who are quite good.....Thanks fellas....some times you clarify my vision.
Nice one Bo Bo and a very heartfelt and true post. Unfortunately the poster you describe is all over the internet. If you're happy with something and have life experience you tend to be less vocal so its no surprise to me that this forum is full of moaning, whinging children.
