It's not impossible Spinks and Charles could potentially stop each other, tho very unlikely.

Yeah, Holmes and Frazier would be a war. Holmes doesn't laze around like the post exile Ali and wouldn't give Frazier many free chances to get off, and his jab could well be the key to the contest. Holmes biggest dangers often come from the right hand too, but of course he's never faced such an effective hook as Fraziers, who brings his own considerable dangers to the table.

I very narrowly lean to Holmes but think it hard enough to belong in here. She's a goodie.

Of course it could happen, but as you said, it probably wouldn't. Some may think that Spinks had a "china chin" because of the Tyson fight. For whatever reason, Mike just didn't look like himself in that fight. Maybe he was a little scared, or whatever... I don't know for certain. Mike would be able to take whatever Ezzard had to offer in my own view, and this would be a very close fight.

This would be very close! Of course Frazier likes to throw the left and some would get through. The Holmes jaw is legendary, however, and I just can't see Joe taking him out with only that. Perhaps if Joe could hit just as hard with both hands.... but even then I don't see him overcoming the solid chin of Holmes all that easily. Holmes could take it as well as anybody has ever been able to at HW!

    Two good picks, John!

By the same token i think Spinks could have the better chin. Cjharles as an improving fighter was dropped 8 or so times and stopped at light heavy. Even at his best there he was dropped and seriously hurt at times. I have no doubt Tyson would have bombed Charles and co out quickly too, his speed and aggression makes him hell for these men moving up. Spinks chin at 175 was superb.

And the thing to remember is that Holmes could indeed stop Frazier. It's far from out of the discussion.

In all honesty, I'd choose Holmes as well. Even though I hate the arrogant a-hole:lol: He was always able to take a huge amount of punishment in his prime, and his boxing skill is, perhaps, just a little better in the end.

Tyson was one of the greatest of all time, for a short period. The damage done was done only to himself.. The guy could have been one of, or the, greatest... if only.......... Oh well, it's like crying over spilled milk now - he was who he was.

I agree! I tend to think Holmes would win this one - not an easy win, but a win nevertheless. Holmes just had better boxing skills in my own view. Frazier, probably, didn't have enough to take Holmes out so superior boxing ability would win the day. Holmes had some power behind his punches as well.... he wasn't a piece of milk toast in that area

Good choices. All three are very tough to call, though I think I might give Leonard the slight nod over Duran. They're all good'uns for sure.
