A fighter defeats Sharkey, Baer, Holyfield, and Buster Douglas in consecutive fights, and then retires.

Sharkey is one of the unmotivated versions. Baer is from the Braddock fight. Buster Douglas is from the Holyfield fight. Holyfield is from Moorer 1.

These are the only significant victims on the fighter's resume.

    Where do you rank him?

Regardless of the fact that those were not the best renditions of those men, it would still be one heck of a good resume. Especially considering that at least three of them were still holding belts at the time of those fights. How would that mystery fighter rank ? Probably high but it would also depend on what the rest of his record looked like

If FOTC hadn't happened this resume would have been better than Frazier's. However, they are 3 current champions, it is not specified for Sharkey.

The rest of his record is negligible. Journeymen with records like 11-14-2; a couple one fight novices; a guy making his pro debut; two fighters with heavily losing records who specialize in that kind of thing, like Eric Crumble used to have. Overall record 25-0-0 (15) before he faced the above four men in consecutive fights.

Then 29-0 if we add those four big wins. I’d rank him high

Give that same fighter a win over 1905 Sullivan and he's the GOAT

He’d have a place in the Hall of Fame just based off how he performed off decades-long layoffs repeatedly.

I wonder what he was doing between 1935 and 1990

Cunningly waiting for an unfocused champion to emerge while acting as a deacon to Scheming George Foreman.

He was waiting for Marvin Hagler to be born, and then to get old.

Ray Leonard, who apparently did not age, copied the second part of this plan.
