Olympic Weightlifters peak at age 26 Powerlifters peak at age 35 Strongmen peak at age 30 Since strongmen competitions are the best indicator of functional strength we can say that strength peaks at age 30. Which is later than most other aspects of athleticism, but strength is the last to peak and the last to go. PEAK STRENGTH: At what age are we our strongest? - The Barbell
I personally found my true man strength if you call it that in mid 30s, i had gained over 40 pounds from what i was in my early 20s was not as fast obviously having been a racing snake as a youth, but still quick enough, my overall conditioning was good, i was solidly built, good strength and sound stamina, i would have destroyed the me of my early 20s. I had kept self fit however wasn't a total gym bunny, but the man strength thing just seemed to happen, i could manhandle the fleet of foot with relative ease, could more than match those built like tanks, and had a natural stamina as it did not feel i was having to work hard against such opposition. As the years have gone on that man strength stayed, it just the speed and overall stamina that has reduced
I think Wlad is a better example. The ~35 year old Wlad who manhandled Povetkin would also manhandle the ~25 year old Wlad who lost to the South African southpaw Saunders.
Gypsy boys typically reach full physical maturity round about the ages of six or seven but some of us do so as young as three or four. I've seen a gypsy toddler ragdoll a 200lb grown man before and I also personally witnessed a six y/o gypsy boy spark a bouncer out cold outside a nightclub one time too.
30 year old me would manhandle 19 year old me ... It's not even a contest People physically mature at different speeds and time periods ... But I'd say most guys peak at around early thirties then decline ... But in terms of speed and athleticism ... You peak in that in your twenties ...
Yes, agreed. I do think that elite athletes are possibly physically stronger at 30 (or at least equal to) their 26yr old selves. However it may not translate and be as noticeable since the conditioning, speed and overall physicality has diminished.
Power and skills is last thing they can lost. Speed, agility and legs are impacted a lot. There might be serious difference even when you are 30 or 33, not alone 34 or 38. For fighters this depends also from training camps, sparring rounds done, kind of these rounds. Fights: number of rounds in general, then how these fights had went and vs who and how this was, only after this: number of fights.
