Pretty sure everyone knows what happened to Pirog. And Cloud got taken out of the sport. He lost too many fights and being signed to Don King doesn't help.
Joel Julio was supposed to be the next big thing and got beat and fell off the map. Juan Urango built like a tank had a decent run at 140 but disappeared.
Denis Boytsov. The hype around him was way out of pocket. The "next Tyson" and "white Tyson" blah blah blah. Only he didnt have the speed, skills, upper body/head movement, footwork, athleticism, or natural talent to a **** poor crackhead drunk Mike Tyson.
The reason as to why Boytsov retired is because he got jumped in a train tunnel and was left critically wounded.
Oh **** that's really ****ed up......... Now I feel bad for say I g what I did about him. Really unfortunate. Could have been a top 5 CW I dont know why he was fighting at HW. Thanks for the heads up. Is he decent or effed up for life?
Don't feel bad, you didn't know about his state. He was in a come for some time, but he woke up and now I think he is fine.
Well thats good to hear. By all accounts he was a nice kid. Top 10 p4p power in boxing but CW was his division, ot HW. I always felt he fought at HW in part to live up to others expectations and Tyson comparisons, which to be fair to him were totally unreasonable and detrimental to his career. Just didnt have the size, height, reach, speed, footwork, or movement to make the most of his talent. If he fought at CW I think he definitely would have been top 5. The one thing that wasnt overrated about him was his power. It was so.ething else. Thanks for the heads up, Chuck.
Great one. I forgot about him for a min. The winner of Glazkov-Martin eventually got a handful of Millions vs AJ. That must be a hard pill to swallow. Where is Glazkov nowadays??? I hope he's doing well financially.
This is so weird.... There needs to be an interview. Seriously the guy was very close to a big paycheck. I know it's not all about money but how could Gomez not see the light at the end of the tunnel???
Im not sure if anyone mentioned George Foreman either, disappeared in the 70's 1977 to 1987 was gone . Reappearing ten years later http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/in-depth-the-george-foreman-comeback-recalled/
