Great analysis here, Cornier uses the former heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman`s two handed glove control to prevent straight shots, skill in the UFC heavyweight division is very limited, who will win this rubber match? This content is protected
Got Stipe. Skill may be limited on the HW division but definitely not between these too. Are you aware that Stipe had a fairly solid amateur boxing background Mark? He fought(and lost too) none other than Bryant Jennings in the national Golden Gloves.
His boxing skills look fairly basic but he uses feints, Ray Robinson said the shoulder feint wa the most important move in boxing.
I got Stipe too, good honest hard working beast. I’ll be honest though, I was surprised he was golden gloves level in the past, I’d expect him to be lighting up Cormier whilst standing instead of the wear down job.
I believe he has, they gave him a skin graft for the scratches Cormier created with his nails also, the scratches where the eye pokes were off target
Stipe looks in the shape of his life at the weigh ins, bit more muscular than last fight and still ripped and fit to go rounds. DC also looks to have put some muscle on, weighed nearly the same as last time but less fat and more muscle. I can't pick a winner with confidence in this one.
He'd be wise to use his legs and box Cormier from the outside, step in occasionally to pound that flab. Cormier would be wise to make it a wrestling match.
