He actually trained for a bit at the Wild Card but left because he didn't like all the attention that Pac brought to it. Too hectic probably

I'm not sure three G could be more offensive minded, it may actually do him some good to tone it back a little, might help if he ever fights a truly live body with some skill.

I agree with you on this Rik, he's already pretty well rounded in that department. Although his defense is sound when he's fighting a big puncher like Stevens, he can turn it on when he likes.

No GGG is a very compact fighter when coming forward, he will lose that under Roach, dont want to see Roach getting any credit for GGG.

Ah, the old "[insert name] should be trained by Roach" garbage. Look, Roach is a great trainer, but he is not a fit for everyone. Notice how he only trains power punchers?

Damn, you acting all butthurt like I took a dump in your Cocoa Puffs Charms.

    :rofl

It makes sense that with GGG's already ultra potent offense that he would only benefit from an offensive-minded trainer.

    :deal

Imagine Golovkin trained by Eddie Futch if he were still alive.

He's already 33. As an offensive fighter he's probably at the very tail end of his own prime if not already past it.

I think Abel does a good job. Honestly, at the top level (trainers who have done significant work with 2 or more titlists IMO) I think all the coaches and trainers know what they are doing.

Its more about how the fighter and trainer mesh, in terms of expectation, communication, and personality. GGG went to Wild Card for a bit, he didnt like it. So its hard to imagine he would have done better there. Is Roach maybe better than Abel overall as a trainer? Sure, certainly very very possible.

But that doesnt mean that any one particular fighter would do better with him, especially if the connection is not there. Same goes for all fighters/trainers.
