Dude...WTF?!

 

Actually, it's about possessing the social aptitude to process what retaliatory remarks are within the realm of the initial offense. i.e., eye for eye, tooth for tooth.

If someone cuts you off on the road, the retaliatory behavior within the realm of that offense would be along the lines of something comparably offensive.

Lacking that understanding speaks volumes about the social intelligence of a person. Roach being a "*****" as you call it was about boxing. Therefore, someone with a half a brain could understand that retaliation would be within the realm of boxing. His retaliation was out of the realm of boxing and ventured into what someone would call a low blow.

Ali himself made terrible remarks about his opponents, and although I personally think he crossed the line and made himself appear foolish at times, at least he had the intestinal fortitude to stand by his stupid and offensive comments. Margarito, on the other hand, went back and apologized(which we all know he's just doing to please the public), which to me shows the caliber of man that he is.

In the end...it makes the fight that much more compelling. :good

 

I don't recall ever calling Roach a *****, but you make some good points here.

All in all.. It's only hype to me. People do all sorts of **** before a fight. As I said before, Roach is no saint himself, and would not get as worked up over this as some of you are if he didn't have to prepare Manny for this weekend. The man is no saint, and neither is Margarito or Rios.

 

Sorry I was kind of also directing this at the guy you quoted as well.

I agree a lot of it is hype.
