    Very true.
I read Rick Broadbent's book earlier this year, - 'The Big If - the life and death of Johnny Owen'.
Good book, well written but hard to read. Chapters of the book telling of his life from boy to the time of the fight, and of Lupe Pintor's life, are interspersed with descriptions of the action of the rounds of that fateful fight.
That's why it's a hard read, cos as you read you develop a lot of feeling for Johnny the person but you know that each chapter is bringing you closer to the tragedy that took him.
Well worth the read - and you're a very staunch man if you can do it without being moved.

It's a great book, especially his Dad's tribute to him at the end - very moving. I thought Pintor came across as very classy, as well.
