Losing Black athletes to other sports?

I aint sure thats the case. Football has always been the most popular sport and always will be. I really dont see how you can make an argument for boxing losing athletes to football. No sport can compete with football and unlike 20 - 30 years ago the money one can earn in football means it will always be the #1 attraction to all kids.

Are black kids choosing MMA over boxing? I dont think there is evidence to suggest thats the case. Maybe black/white kids of today jus aint attracted to combat sports.

You have to remember that any one starting in boxing or MMA has to accept that at the beginning its a lot of hard work with not much pay to match. Now in comparison a footballer at the top level by 25 can be set for life.

I really dont see a whole bunch of black kids taking up Rugby. Guys rolling on top of each other is a reason why Rugby and even MMA will always struggle to tap into the Black community. In the US even with the popularity of the UFC skyrocketing it still loses massivly to boxing in when trying convert the Latin and Black communities.
