To me it just looks like a few desperate British fans hanging on to any balls they could find and trust me the list is very very short and Calzaghe is the only one with an 0 worth mentioning.

When it comes to resume Calzaghe fails miserably.

A lot of Calzaghe fans are gullible, they believe what they want to believe. Calzaghe is a very dishonest charecter with a toxic personality, and most of the criticism levelled against him is accurate, however, you have to give the man credit for having good skills and a very successful career.

Once in a while we have some of these discussions where most of the posters reply sanely without the traditional namecallings as well as barb tradings...It is refreshing for a change!!! But still, some misfits whose only reasoning is to sprung a profane word or two seems to abound...

I really dislike claims that 'most Hatton and Calzaghe fans are idiots', just because they disagree with the poster. It's arrogant as **** as really doesn't belong here.

that`s because, you are very new to esb and have only been around here for 1 joe calzaghe fight.

opinions have changed on calzaghe over the years on esb same as they have on many fighters and fans.

many fighters have had fans that would not have a word said against them putting them on a pedestal .

calzaghe has fans like that on esb/paq has fans like that on esb/jones/trinidad/hopkins/klitchko`s/lewis/mayweather/d.m/etc etc, every big name fighter has fans like this and have had fans like this over the many years i have been on esb.

the owners of the site are big klitchko fans and set up esb on the back of that.
early esb was all about the klitchko`s , you had posters like jaydawg, who would tell you what underpants roy jones was wearing on any tuesday morning.

nuthugging is the norm , not the exception.

for most of the time i have been on esb , it has been calzaghe that has been castigated by 90% of the posters and only 10% supporting him.

Well after watching pac beat up on a human punchbag in oscar who the hell are you to comment on calzaghe beating a shot fighter lol
The fact is roy jones was coming off a win and according to many was on his way back, however the same cant be said for oscar he has been shot for years even when he won a very controversial decision against felix sturm just so a fight could be set up against floyd mayweather.
I love to watch pac fight and he is everything i enjoy about the sport but watching oscar stagger around taking punch after punch after punch was sad.
So before you criticise joe why not look at your fav fighters last fight, ask yourself if you can truly say that was
    1 a great fight
    2 Has it proved anything

    Joe beat hopkins and jones
Hopkins held on to joe like they were on dancing with the stars and then expected to just put in one or two punches a round and expect the decision. Joe tried to take the fight to hopkins but hopkins was trying to feign injury cheat and try and steal a verdict, he got what he deserved nothing.
Roy Jones wasnt anywhere near being as shot as oscar was

Lets wait and see what happens in the hatton v pac fight and then judge shall we???

Hatton isnt going to just stand there like oscar

I hear ya, and didn't quote your post specifacally (so don't bomb back or nothing:p), but the thing about it is: Joe's 2007 autobiography says he would NEVER fight RJJ because he's a shell of him former self etc..

But in 2008 it's no problem and even mocks Jones after he's clearly winning the fight and blood is streaming down RJJ face.

    But what ever.

He could have fought Jones when it meant something, for a start. That would also have coincided with him moving up to 175 at an earlier age seeing as the 168 division was so weak (your words not mine)

Also seeing as that 168 division was so weak he could have actually tried to unify it about 7 years before he did, hell he'd have got my respect for that even if he hadn't moved up to fight Jones. Also if he had done that then the big money fights that he whines about never getting would have been right there for him.

The reason none of the above happened is down to Calzaghe and his ego and also Frank Warrens willingness to constantly shift him towards the easy option to protect the weakest belt a World Champion can hold. Calzaghe will always be remembered for "what he could have been" as opposed to what he actually was, in my opinion. The way he's acting like he's Sugar Ray ****ing Robinson or something at the moment just because he beat 2 guys that were WAY past their best just irritates me even more - I suspect the nut-huggers that post on here haven't been watching the guy as long as I have, and don't remember the long running farce that was 1997-2005 where he fought utter ****. He did too little, too late.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

That sums up in a nutshell why Calslappy and his fans are mocked so much. Roy was coming off a win over a disinterested shell of a figher and Oscar was coming off a clear but close loss to the P4P number 1.

Pac-man didn't end up on his arse asking "what the **** just hit me" either :yep

Actually, just to clarify Oscar was coming off a win over Stevie Forbes. You could at least be correct if you want to be condescending.

    that 1-0 TFFP?

Actually if I'd used that I could have been even more condescending but yeah fair enough I'd forgotten that non-event.
