    Absolutely any bookie.

Calzaghe was hot favourite to win, and expected to win clearly.

search back on this forums history and the biggest calzaghe fans such as amsterdam, credible posters like kg, brooklyn etc...... all accepted the upcoming annihalation of oldman river as a given. hell, for a very large part of 2007 people here were pegging calzaghe as a firm favorite, this feeling peaked during joe's win over kessler and in the ensuing months before the fight. there were even threads polling how long hopkins would last. ask posters who were in the thick of those debates like bigreg and decebal, and they'll tell you that the feeling on here was that old man hoke was a sacrificial lamb being led to the slaughter.

According to the bookies, nobody was a red hot favourite, though it wasn't a 50/50 either. Calzaghe was a relatively close favourite at something like 2/5 or 4/9, which whilst it is not 50/50, neither is it anything compared to the 1/9 which was available on some upsets this year (Witter v Bradley, Forrest v Mora).

Why did Lennox Lewis need to fight a shot to **** Mike Tyson?

    Legacies.

Same with Calzaghe yes he didnt fight a prime Jones but he has the W on his record.

Hopkins & RJJ were his last fights he needed to make money even tho I'd have prefered to have seen him fight Pavlik instead of Jones
