This brings out all the good points. Finding a gym with a dedicated trainer who cares and is responsible, having quality sparring, ect. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2010/11/18/amateur-boxing-for-beginners-a-how-to-guide-part-i/
Problem with boxing trainers? It's the punchy business. It's why Roger Mayweather and Floyd Sr are elite trainers.
Good luck finding a gym that's exclusively boxing if you don't live in a huge city. All the gyms I've worked at have been MMA, boxing, fitness, and martial arts, and all of them have had "classes." All of them have had successful pros and/or state level amateur champs. I'd recommend them for beginners/intermediate fighters. For the TS, I'd recommend just going to a gym and not worrying about if it's perfect. Problem is your personality and the fact that the trainers/fighters won't like you or make you feel welcome, so you're pretty much screwed and should find something else to be an expert at.
