He fights Pulev in America next. Get a low interest mandatory out of the way and strike while the iron is hot in America to build further interest there. Hopefully Wilder fights Parker in the meantime, with Showtime putting alot of promotion into the matchup. Then AJ fights the winner in an American ppv unification billed as creating the first completely unified champ since Lennox. I think that could sell as a ppv in America with that groundwork.
I think Joshua's name is so big now, opponents will have to travel to the UK and fight him at Wembley. The 90,000 live gate revenue is too much to turn noses up at and there's the kudos too, of a fight being held on such a big stage. However, I can see a Wilder vs AJ unification fight being held in the UK but at a time closer to US prime time as a compromise...
He doesn't need America. WHat heavyweights do they have? Once Wilder's pathetic jaw is exposed by anyone with a pulse they have nobody.
Don't fhooking bother Americans don't appreciate boxing like the Brit / Europeans Let them keep their men making amour
Short term he'll make more money in UK. If he wants a billion, as he's said, he needs to break into America.
We'll see, but boxing is flourishing in the UK and stagnating in the States. Holding the fight at Wembley but starting it later to haul in the US PPV market - they did that with a Calzaghe fight I seem to recall - is the more likely path Matchroom will take. It's not impossible they'll take him on tour to America but that 90,000 setting will make anything else look small time on TV. The times they are a changin'...
Honestly I think a big bout in the US would be better for boxing. Give international fans a chance to see.. I would be highly tempted to attend Vegas as London is literally the opposite end of the earth from me.
I don't see how Joshua/Pulev would garner much interest at the moment in the US. Unless a Vegas casino is willing to stump up the cash and hopes tens of thousands of UK fans will travel there like they did for Hatton. He really needs a US fighter to face to make it worth while going to the US. That of course would be Wilder. The best platform for him to break America would be to have Wilder beat Parker for his WBO title and have the first undisputed heavyweight title clash since Lewis/Holyfield in 99 in America. That would be a huge fight and could see him become a PPV attraction in the US.
Why because you say so you degenerate? Joshua made you type this didn't he you ****en degenerate lmao.
AJ doesnt need to go to America. The big fights are in the UK and Europe. Wilder should travel for the champ and I wonder if Wilder will travel to the UK for a Bellew fight?
