Its a shame I cant LIKE this post of yours several times. 90000 fans, best city in the world, fantastic culture Wembley stadium is the place
AJ makes tons more money in London than in the US. Look at the purses Wilder's fights generate, after 5 (!) title defenses his fights have purses of $2.3-2.5 million. The US does not generate money in the HW scene. There is zero interest in HW boxing there. Foreigners like AJ or Parker are not going to change that.
It doesnt matter where the money is or where he is better off he will want to fight in America in those venues with so much history, like a bucket list. The least he would do over there are good numbers, may be great with the Brits going over but the 1 thing Joshua lacks that you really need to fully break America is the fact he is not American himself. So if his goal is to make as much money as possible every single time then stay at home, if he wants to be able to say he has been and fought in the most famous venues in Boxings history then travel.
Can't have the fight at Wembley and on at a later time for US Ppv as Wembley events have to finish earlier hence why Saturday's fight was on at 10pm sharp. Maybe old Trafford or City of Manchester stadium could host. Maybe millennium stadium.
They probably need to find a boxing Stipe Miocic to bring it back in the U.S, a white American hope. Wilder has not caught their imaginations anyway.
Joshua doesn't need to as apart from Wilder there is no box office USA HW. In USA he would fight in a Casino ballroom or car park. Where is the appeal in that when he can fight in front of 90 000 passionate fans at Wembley ? He is still young i'm sure when the time is right he will enter the USA market.
Does he NEED to come to America? In my opinion, the answer is no, solely based on how much he's drawing in the UK. However... there's more to consider when it comes to his potential. Therefore, the bigger question becomes "Can Anthony Joshua restore HW Boxing to prominence in the US?" since a great deal of benefit comes from having crossover appeal here. If AJ became a star here, he'd stand a greater chance at reaching his goal of becoming a billionaire, provided that he invests his money from fight purses and endorsements wisely. The fact is, Anthony Joshua is an exciting fighter who has just proved his legitimacy in boxing's (historical) flagship division. If AJ continues to do what he's doing, then he definitely has a shot at bringing a lot of attention back to HW boxing in the US. Obviously the MMA audience has a lot more drawing power among casual fight fans over here, which is a factor working against his chances... but every fight fan enjoys a good fight featuring an exciting fighter who takes on all comers and KOs them in impressive fashion. If AJ can be that guy as he improves, then he might be able to become a bonafide major PPV attraction over here. We'll see what happens in the future. I think he's got the UK in the bag, but he shouldn't limit himself when it comes to his chances of becoming a beloved fighter in the US as well someday. In the meantime, Joshua is still a relative novice in the game who just recently "stepped up", so he's got plenty of time to assess which course/s to take.
Surely the weather comes into it. Out door fight in summer, indoors in winter. Not sure if Pulev would be a Wembley fight. Maybe try to take it to Manchester during the EPL break if he feels ready to go again before early August. Pulev is solid opposition and follow the Wlad jab game plan a bit and the IBF mandatory has been hanging quite a while now.
I think people over play America, the Klits didn't go there as much as they could have and I don't think either of them are short of money... Plus in this day and age I can watch PPV in HD on my mobile phone anywhere in the world so if AJ keeps doing what he is doing he will be a big star in the US with out having to actually go there...
Why not fight Parker in Vegas? A high interest unification would surely lead into a Wilder fight better than a low interest mandatory.
Pulev? This path is not daring to be great. Klitschko's scraps? Come on. Bring on Wilder, Parker, Fury or a rematch with the Klit.
This fight between Wilder and Parker to set up the unification bout is highly unlikely to ever happen. Parker would make a fifth of what he would make fighting Joshua, and that's being generous. Given he would be a heavy underdog in both fights it would be idiotic to fight Deontay and risk losing the belt.
But the winner of a Parker-Wilder bout will stand to gain a lot more from a Joshua fight as they would bring two belts to the table. It's a big risk for both, but the reward is high too. Also, especially in Parker's case, even if he lost he could rebuild and eventually get a crack at Joshua anyway if Joshua stays at the top of the HW pile. He would just need to beat a few contenders again and he'd be right in the mix for a Joshua fight.
