I was talking to some of my collegues today and they were talking about the khan-peterson fight. One of them has been watching boxing for a while and i would describe him as a hardcore fan, he stays up late at night to watch FNFs and his hard drive is piled with old Monzon fights.
he was telling me that he used to be a big khan fan, but no longer is, he claimed that the fight over the weekend exposed everything he hated about khan. and that he feels sick that he fell for the hype, he also said that the virdicts from the chisora and marquez fights dissapointed the hell out of him. and this contributed to his decision in picking up on another sport.
i was wondering what everyones thoughts were on this

Bad decisions have always and will always be there so to stop watching it is ****in stupid. Its like giving up on football if yout team gets done out of a goal. Stupid.

Reminds me of a guy I knew who gave up wanking after he found out he'd accidentally bashed one out to some tranny porn.

He'll get over it, and it'll take time - but the first step is accepting that it's not his fault

Sounds like those Haye fans that bought into the "True Warrior" BS.

Bad decisions and hype jobs are nothing new, that's boxing. Nobody's happy about it but is that enough to make you jack it in and watch golf instead? Nah.

I have to be honest, boxing is a ****ing hard sport to like and I can see why a lot of people hate it. The sport seems to shoot itself in the foot so often, for every great fight there is a stinker, or a horrible robbery, or some terrible refereeing (not in the Khan fight though). There are 5 or 6 "champions" in the same weight class, the best fights aren't always made, promoters have far too much of an influence.

To be honest the modern game isn't really my thing, but I still follow it so I can still make valid comparisons with the archival stuff I watch.

I get really bored of boxing sometimes, but with the wealth of footage there is out there I'll never be able to stop being a fan.

For every Haye V Klitchko big hype borefest there is a Concepcion V Marquez war, tell your friend to start watching real boxing - plus the Khan V Peterson fight was of a good standard.

Tell him to stop being a fan boy and start enjoying the actual fights
