I was at the Carl Froch fight against Bute, and Dan Raphael called it the 2nd best boxing atmosphere he's ever seen.

I was also at the Hatton fight this weekend. And the atmosphere for a Hatton fight is completely different league.

There is nothing like it, and i said to my friend, win lose or draw, its worth going to a hatton event to experience a Ricky Hatton Fight.

    There's only One......

for 10,000 fan's for Froch, vs 30,000 for Ricky, I'd give the Froch boys the edge.

IF Froch fights Ward in Nottingham, just watch, it'll be electricfying!

There is the difference imo ..

It would take Froch fighting someone of the calibre of Ward to generate the same atmosphere as Hatton fighting just about anyone.

As said it's because the Hatton fans are Manchester City football fans, not boxing fans

And what exactly are Froch's fans in Nottingham ?

Forest and County fans perhaps ?

Nah a lot of good boxing fans go to those, Froch isn't a huge deal in Nottingham amongst the casuals, and I know because I'm from Nottingham

Maybe 1/4 of those in attendence are football type fans, the rest is boxing fans from Nottingham, Sheffield, Lincoln etc

    Essex here.

Been up to Nottingham twice for the Bute and Mack fights also went to the Hatton one at the weekend.

I felt that the Hatton fans were more boxing orientated, much louder and had chants for Hatton. Most of the Froch crowd were chanting 'we are Nottingham' or other football chants. Both fights had great atmospheres but I think Hattons fans create the better one, can't beat a brass band.

Dont talk rubbish, nearly every boxer/fan from Liverpool Manchester go to a Hatton fight. To say its all football fans is pure ignorance. Hatton is bigger in the boxing community than Froch will ever be.

David Price vs Audley Harrison, was a passionate atmosphere for David Price.

David Price has taken over Tony Bellew as the city's fighter without a doubt. Tony Bellew fans seem bored during his fights and emotionally disconnected of late.

I feel like Liverpool has taken to David Price more.

The next week after David Price did a job on Audley Harrison, i felt the excitement on the streets of Liverpool! I bumped into some fella down south end, and we got talking about the boxing and i remember him forcefully saying...

"Liverpool is going to have a Heavyweight Champion! Liverpool is going to have a heavyweight Champion"....

Just repeating this, with a ecstatic look on his face! while shaking his fist in a political gesture.

It was the moment when i realised..? David Price is rising. It was a moment of self realisation, that this was different, what was happening before are eyes is not normal. I can remember watching the rise of Usain Bolt in 2007 Athletics season, and the 2008 Olympic season, i can remember the 9.72sec in Newyork city early on in the season. Track statisticians know that..? Its not normal to be breaking world records early on in the season due to training protocols.

I am a loyal David Haye fan, but i even question even at this embryonic stage of David Price's career..? whether he is the number 1 British fighter above David Price.

I feel like the boxing world is hoping that David Price cannot take a punch, and has way below par punch resistant and mental stamina.

If the time comes, when he shows that he can stand up to heavy bombardment, and stay in there and answer back with his sub-atomic power..?

    God Help the heavyweight division.

    God help us all........

It got boring after the 3rd round tbh.

It was loud, but does it make it a good atmosphere? I didn't hear one person around me talking about boxing, they were there to get pissed and repeat the same chant over and over and then leave as soon as Hatton was counted out and not bother giving him a round of applause after.
