what does found out mean exactly? I hate all this **** in boxing, you get knocked out then your chin is clearly made of glass, you lose you have been exposed, it's all bull**** and it's boring as **** to read about after every fight.

This is a tired old argument. Are some people exposed by losing? Yes, but others aren't, they just fight someone who maybe does the same things but better.
It's so easy to sit in an ivory tower and say I told you so. Did we expect b hop to be so dominant over pavlik? No. But did it expose him as a boxer with an average boxing ability and explosive punching power? No, we all knew that before. The only time someone is exposed IMO is a touted prospect, who still has to develop a real pro style. When these kind of guys get beaten, or even win but don't look doing it it shows up flaws in their pro style that need correcting. An established pro isn't exposed, because we know how they will fight. If they lose, it just means they didn't impose their fighting style well enough, or that their particular style wasn't made to beat the other guy.
Amir khan wasn't exposed when Prescott did him, we ****ing knew his chin was ****!
There are however a lot of shut American fighters out there though

Everything thats wrong with boxing in this one post. If you want fighters to take risks things like this do not help.

Only ones that were found out is Allan Green, because he didn't show much fighting heart when the going got tough. Realistically he was found out by Miranda. BJ Flores too for the same reasons.

I do allow myself a smile when a genuine hype job gets taught a lesson by a veteran or something..... but many of those have just lost fights against good opponents.

Not sure many of them needed finding out either.... Arreola didn't need to fight Vitali Klitschko and Adamek to be shown up, he does it all by himself.

I dont think Ward or Bradley have potential to be 'found out' next year. They are both the real deal and will only enhance ther reputations in my opinion.

No one got 'found out'. Most of those guys lost to good opposition in competitive fights. Losing doesn't mean your career's worthless. And if it did, Williams got found out YEARS ago. So did Martinez.

What's interesting for me is how few genuine US world champions there are. If it wasn't for the central/south american immigration into the US it would just be a second rate backwater.

People on this forum are far too quick to write a fighter off based on a single loss.

Lets say that we had written off Joe Louis off after his loss to Max Schmeling, and declared that he had been "exposed".

We would obviously have been wrong to because he went on to hold the title for 12 years and become the conseensus greatest heavyweight of all time.

Yeah exactly and then all of a sudden, every swinging dick had predicted that particular fighters demise for years because they had spotted this flaw or seen them as "hypejobs" ages ago.

its bull****, can a fighter not lose without going through all ****. Everytime a fighter is knocked out, gets beaten one sided or just dosent perform well the fans question everything about them. just goesd to show how fickle the fans are today. I cant imagine them being like that forty or fifty years ago or some great fighters would have been written off and not givin another chance by the fans. These days if you lose one big fight you might never get a chance at another one.
