This is why jabs are important. Floyds defense is great for blocking hooks, but not so good for blocking jabs. What floyd does is he leans back from jabs and then counters with his right hand, but his philly shell isn't too great for blocking jabs or any straight punch. https://www.the-newshub.com/combat/mayweather-to-fight-cotto-may-2nd
Here we go again. The jab. https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw...r%2BJr%2FOlwaO3MVu6g%2FMiguel%2BCotto;594;396
Those arching hooks GGG throws would penetrate floyd's D. They need to come from above, landing on top of the head, although thats a great way to brake your hand too. But GGG knocked one of his opponents out with this shot and thought man, that would be deadly punch for someone with Floyd's D because you can't really defend it well.
you're an idiot !! James Tony employed philly shell to near perfection and many a deferent opponents and it only weakness was if the person using had not mastered it or the user was not in great shape to take advantage of the style. Tony did lose how ever to Roy Jones, who style is very un orthodox. His style would faint James out of position, and because of Roy's hand and foot speed caused James some real problem. Now before any of you pac nuts start drawing any similarity between Pac and Roy, Pac's style and speed does not even rival a very young Roy speed and Power.
The philly shell is excellent for catching the jab, because the Right hand is held high to parry the jab. In fact the philly shel very strong at countering the Jab, straight right and left hook, single shot or combination.
Holy sh*t are you ever stupid. Seriously. It is a WELL KNOWN fact that the shell is vulnerable...do you know WHY? Obviously f**king not.
Simple stupid *****s who think that an orthodox jab is the same as a southpaw jab. Floyd is vulnerable to a good straight left when using his cross guard and shoulder roll. The cross guard gives up protection form the straight left in favor of greater protection from the left hook and superior vision. The high right hand us used to parry straight lefts but that is limited. A strong left hand will go right through the parry as we have seen when guys with good lefts fight Floyd. This is basic boxing 101 but *****s DKSAB.
No it might be able to catch a jab. But it doesn't do very well against good jabs with solid pop. Its a give and take. You get better vision and protection from the hook but you lose protection from a straight left. Parrying doesn't work well when a jab has a hell of a lot of pop behind it.
Here Floyd shows how to counter the jab using the philly shell .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adpzb5Cz95w
Yeah that guy really has a job like Oscar or Cotto. It's like I was watching a doppelganger. Shut the **** up!!!!
