Jeff, i've seen significantly worse debuts than that...you looked properly schooled from the outset (who was your trainer?), no head hunting, worked to the body very well, excellent shot selection...i'd have been chuffed to **** with that performance first time out :good
I know, it reads like that atsch but "properly schooled" is a complement...maybe should have used "properly drilled"...or maybe not
"That was a bit out of order from Jeff Thomas" :rofl Decent hand speed, some stiff punches aswell particularly the body shots could really hear them, picked your punches nicely, loved the right uppercut-right hook combo at about 2:25, looked like you were trying to catch him coming in with the short left hook aswell and did quite a few times though a few shots were a little wild.
Cheers guys appreciate that. I swear I could have been a good en if I didn;t have asthma. I think that and some of the other stuff I can show you will back i up. I'll put the next three on in a min.
Good going Jeff, you looked real cool for your first pro fight its like you done it a good few times.
My amateur trainer was Andy Sumner... probably one of the best trainers in amateur boxing. He was responsible for Brian Rose, Jack Arnfield, Matty Askin, Karl Kirkham, Roy Finlay, Gavin Nichols and Ashley Delaney who were all skilled lads who boxed to a very high standard. I turned pro with former flyweight Louis Veitch.
Seriously appreciate that. Value everyones opinion on here. Most of you guys know the sport better then your average joe bloggs. Some of my mates still think I could beat Amir Khan if I was fit... Lol I'just go along with it.... fed up of preaching to the unconverted. This is the last three. I wasn't gassed in the last round I was just a bit panicy because I knew I had it won. 5th was great...lovely bodywork..i notice you didnt bend the knees too much, but thats not me picking holes...it was a great display..you look a bit bigger, was there a weight difference?...you had a great technique, suited to the pro game i'd say...and you were good going back when you had to too, although you were winning easy...a very impressive debut that....you can be very proud when kids and other family look at that.. i seen louis veitch box live too back in the 90's btw...what software did you end up using to help you achive this dream ??
Thanks for taking the time to do this Jeff. You sure picked your punches well and had decent handspeed.
