No he hasn't. Ray Hatton has said that Ricky will have 5 more fights before retiring and that one will be Witter.

On another note Witter is perfectly down to earth and friendly....and no his support is not massive in Bradford. I went to watch him fight in Bradford in mid 2004 and there were more people there supporting Nadeem Saddique than there were Witter.
Likewise I went to watch him beat Corley at Alexandra Palace and a large portion of the audience were there following Billy Corcoran.

Early indications in the direction of Ricky Hatton's career were revealed by his lawyer Gareth Williams to the London Telegraph. According to Williams, "The Hitman" will likely defend his IBO belt in the UK then face IBF junior welterweight champion Paul Malignaggi at Madison Square Garden later in the year. Williams also stated that Hatton will not face hated rival WBC super lightweight champion Junior Witter. "Ricky will never fight Junior Witter, as long as he keeps attacking him in public," he is quoted as saying.

Now am i supposed to take that "not" and "never" may mean maybe he`ll face? Or he might face him? Or he might not face him? Now i did english language and literature in school and scored quite highly.Words like NOT and NEVER are general indications that ITS NOT going to happen. But now Rickys dad say Ricky now may face him? One minute they`ve been saying this for the last 6 years. It still hasnt happend yet so which one is it?

Strike you should know better than that. What did Hatton say prior to fighting Vince Phillips 4 and a half years ago? Thats right HE AND FRANK said it was written into there contract back then for the fight to happen.Ricky got cut in his bout with Phillips and then renagued onthe agreement.4 and half years later the fight STILL hasnt happened. Are we supposed to live in "hope" that the fight may happen? Are we supposed to take Hattons word when he flip flops constantly and consistently on a fight that was supposed to happen 6 years ago? Can you kindly explain that one to me as im missing a beat.

    :patsch

You really have no idea do you. I'd be willing to bet I've been watching boxing for longer than you have been on this planet.

I'd also expect a bit of humility from someone whose point is demolished in such embarassing fashion. Obviously I'm expectig more class than you are capable of.

    You certainly are.

You're entire argument was based on something you say Hatton said years ago..... then you you say you don't believe anything he says ...?

Demolished? One minute did you not read the quote from FIGHTNEWS? Or are they corrupt too like the "Ring" because your the new authority around here? What is this little ****ing world you live in?

Why dont you answer the question instead of talking smack as your now actually starting to ****ing annoy me.I mean how can you be soooo ****ing stupid? His comments were written down in black and white, in plain English, what can be more clearer than that? Tell you what seeing as you the new authority around here and everyone else has got it wrong why dont you explain to me what Hattons PR guy meant.

Ok Sherlock let me highlight the text for you as you havent been specsavers recently to get them old ass boxing eyes of yours checked:

    Hatton vs Malignaggi?
Early indications in the direction of Ricky Hatton's career were revealed by his lawyer Gareth Williams to the London Telegraph. According to Williams, "The Hitman" will likely defend his IBO belt in the UK then face IBF junior welterweight champion Paul Malignaggi at Madison Square Garden later in the year. Williams also stated that Hatton will not face hated rival WBC super lightweight champion Junior Witter. "Ricky will never fight Junior Witter, as long as he keeps attacking him in public," he is quoted as saying.
Malignaggi (23-1, 5 KOs) will defend his title against IBF #1 mandatory challenger Herman Ngoudjo (16-1, 9 KOs) on January 5 at Bally’s in Atlantic City in the first big fight of 2008.

Witter goes into his shell a lot. Most of his fights consist of him feinting to throw 100 punches a round and actually throwing 10 punches a round.

Hatton's pressure would really drive him into his shell and he'd end up getting hurt.

Witter hasn't fought anybody on Hatton's level, the closest to it was Judah and he stunk up the joint.

    FIGHTNEWS???
They have been exposed for printing false stories several times.

But if this is true and Hatton fights Paulie next, SO WHAT?

He is a 140 belt-holder just like Witter and is waay more marketable than Witter, especially if they do fight at MSG.

But the point remains that you said a couple of posts ago that you don' believe anything Hatton says....
now you are getting your panties all tied up over something he allegedly said....?

    Did someone mention "flip-flopping"?

Listen why dont you guys watch his fights post Judah??!?!?!?!?! After he fought Judah he went on a 14 fight KO streak.Since then his moved up in opposition and has been actively pursuing the KO.He doesnt throw 10 punches around and doesnt go into any magical shell. If this was pre Judah i would have agreed as his style was much more defensive like Nelsons but that was nearly 5 years ago!!! May be Hatton would beat him may be he wont i couldnt care less.I just want to see the 2 fight and Hatton face his rightful number 2 and give us the clash that hardcore British fans have been baying for for the last 6 ****ing years.

This tired ass old line is just crap.Spin a new record already.

ANY rookie chucked into the lions den on 4 fights notice that even goes 12 rounds gets my hat off to them.Whilst Witter was taking on Judah Ricky was busy taking on club fighters like Jason Rowland so quit this comparison bull****.

Actually seen Witter-Judah? Witter edged 5rounds on 7days notice

Harris was near Hattons level and he got dominated and destoyed.

FACT: HATTON HAS AVOIDED WITTER FOR 7 YEARS

Can you not read? I didn't say I was the authority. I just said that Ring are no more of an authority than me, OR YOU, or any other fan who knows the sport.

I said Ring had been found guilty of "selling" their rankings to Don King..... FACT
I said they are a commercial business so it is in their interest to follow popular opinion..... FACT
I said they are owned by Golden Boy Enterprises ...... FACT
