a lighter cro cop

  1. he has always been a small heavyweight so i was wondering
if he could of got down to 205lb and fought light-heavy in the ufc, would he of been successful against all the great fighters in that division?
i don't know what ages he was between when he was in his prime back then in PRIDE, but at that particular age period, in the ufc over the last 4-5 yrs, for instance?

i realize he'd of had to lose a fair amount of weight.

PRIDE had a LHW division fella, they just called it MW. And I dont see how CC is a small HW at 230lbs

But if he had made the cut, he would have ran through the LHW's of the UFC, if he was in the right place mentally, which he hasnt been for years

I don't believe Crocop could ever have made 205. The guy was 230lbs with very little bodyfat. It seems that on this forum lately, people think anyone below 240lbs is a really a lightheavyweight who can't be assed making the cut to 205. IMO, not the case. Maybe Fedor could've done it if he lost the love handles, but guys like Crocop had heavyweight frames and not much bodyfat at all.

Cain and JDS are both at the 240 mark. I guess who ever loses should make the cut as they are obviously too small to beat 260 + guys like Brock and Carwin. Right?

Exactly. Maybe Fabricio Werdum should fight Rashad Evans while they're at it.

Fedor loses to Big Foot and the cut in weight is all the rage.....

  7. yes i did know pride had a middleweight division fella, thats where the 205 lbs comes from.
as for cro cop being small, he's usually looked smaller than a lot of the opponents i've seen him fight.
besides, plenty of people on the forum have mentioned the same thing in the past.

i've just had a look at the last 25 opponents he has had[i included roy nelson too] and around 20 were bigger than him.

CC has NEVER been a small heavy. His been a heavy his entire career. CC is long in the tooth. It wouldn't matter if he could make 155 or 265 he's shot.

Boom. Most posters here have never trained or practised any form of combat sport so don't understand the difficulties of finding a weight that you can perform at optimally. There's always this ridiculous assumption that fighter A can make said weight just because fighter A looks like he can. It's absurd logic.

The fact that Big Foot is an "Acromegalic Giant", 300lbs, with canned hams for fists, and clearly not your "average physique" in respect of opponent seems to have missed most peoples radar's.

Weight had nothing to do with the ass whoopings he took, he's just shot and anyone who's seen a shot boxer can tell it. He's hesitant to engage, he doesn't see openings in time, and he's easily countered because he's much slower and he does nothing but load up and pray for one good kick.

Point is as soon as a fighter loses there are calls for him to drop a weight class.

I know. It's ridiculous. As if he automatically becomes more competitive by fighting smaller men?!?!

The only one I think would do better is Roy Nelson, but....
