Now as a fan of both sports and Martial Arts in general I thought it would be cool to highlight some fights where the professional boxer won in MMA, here are some worth checking out:

    Lou Savarese
    Boxing Record: 46-7
    MMA record: 1-0

Former Heavyweight contender who was most known for his somewhat controversial decision loss to George Foreman and getting knocked out by Mike Tyson in 1 round. At the age of 47 in 2013 Savarese made his MMA debut winning by first round knockout:

    Ray Mercer
    Boxing record: 36-7
    MMA record: 1-0

Former WBO Heavyweight Champion, Mercer fought in Kickboxing going 0-2 then tried his hand at MMA. His first fight was an exhibition against famed Internet street fighter Kimbo Slice which Mercer lost via submission in 2007. Then in 2009 at the age of 48 Mercer fought the much younger ex UFC heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia in what became an embarrassing loss within the MMA community where Mercer knocked out Sylvia in only
    9 seconds.

    James Warring:
    Boxing record: 18-4
    MMA record: 2-1

Former Kickboxing Champion turned professional Boxer, Warring won the IBF Cruiserweight Championship in just 36 seconds in 1991 (Might still be the fastest time to win a World Title to this day?) Warring fought in WCC tournament in 1995 back in the old school days of MMA. Warring won his first two bouts until losing to Renzo Gracie in the final:

    Jeremy Williams
    Boxing record: 43-5
    MMA record: 5-0

Jeremy Williams is probably best known for getting brutally knocked out by Samuel Peter. Williams had a background in Judo and Wrestling before he was a boxer and there's a video out there of him throwing Lennox Lewis to the ground twice in sparring. He competed in MMA from 2005-2008 winning all five fights:

    Yodsanan Sityodtong:
    Boxing record: 56-3-1
    MMA record: 4-1

Also known as Yodsanan Sor Nanthachai, former WBA Super Featherweight Champion that's probably best known for his underrated battle against Vicente Mosquera who would later go onto lose his belt to an up and coming Edwin Valero. Yodsanan fought 5 fights in the ONE FC promotion winning 4 of his fights by knockout:

    Mark Potter
    Boxing record: 21-2
    MMA record: 5-2

British domestic level boxer Mark Potter is most known for his fights against Danny Williams where Williams was able to knock Potter while his arm was badly dislocated, a great fight which I suggest e everyone who hasn't seen it to check it out. After Potter ended up moving onto the unlicensed boxing scene after losing his Pro license due to eye injuries, he went undefeated on the scene and had several fights in MMA showing some potential:

    Dillian Whyte
    Boxing record: 31-3
    MMA record: 1-0

Dillian Whyte started off on the Kickboxing/Muay Thai scene and actually had his MMA fight before he ever boxed at the age of 19:

    Butterbean
    Boxing record: 77-10-4
    MMA record: 17-10-1

Now Butterbean wasn't a great boxer, he was a huge guy with some incredible power but limited actual Boxing skills, he was a gimmick that came from the Toughman Contests but made a good living. He wasn't afraid of competing in any type of style as he also had a few fights in K-1 too, he actually had more submissions than he did knockouts in MMA!:

Yes it was awesome seeing Savarese having actual knowledge of how to defend a takedown and get back to his feet.
