I had a little idea whilst doing the boring 9-5 job the other day about how i can support boxing at a lower level, and I thought it could be pretty c oolto help set up some kind of independent promotions company, its a really vague idea and would need a few other brains to throw some ideas onto the table, but basically it would be something along the lines of what happened at ebbsfleet United the other season where online members donated a monthly fee to the fund, in this case I was thinking something along the lines of £5 a month to join and we could support around 10 young boxers with equipment, exposure and follow there progress, help sell tickets, working alongside promotors to promote small hall shows. depending on wether this idea takes off or is actually pants, im not sure but we could get a shortlist of 50 young boxers and have a voting system of which boxers should be backed and the top 10 boxers are the ones we work with and support. Its a little like what happens in horse racing when people join buy a share in a race horse but i really want it to be more of a charity concept than a making money concept.
its a decent idea, im just not sure how many people you'd get willing to donate the money. I for one, probably wouldnt, to be honest, but am sure a few of the lads on here would be game. Good to see a fan trying t give back any way he can.
i think if every paying member gets a free red War hat and the concept was called WAR PROMOTIONS. it would fly!!
