Not sure if anyone has seen him fight. Here's a video interview he did not too long ago.

From what I'm reading He's the leading candidate to fight Cotto in Feb and announcement will be this week.

he's one of the nicest men you can meet and he's an honest come forward fighter , a much better opponent than say gary lockett and obviously has the chance of a lifetime to write himself in the history books. he'll give it a good go.

none of which will stop him getting completely battered off cotto. different class altogether. just hope he gets paid well and gets out in one piece.

People that watch him expecting another Gary Lockett might be pleasantly surprised.

He does have some decent fundamentals unlike the Welshman. He's heard of a jab. He keeps a nice tight guard. He doesn't do anything wild, just stands upright and relies on good boxing ability. Unfortunately he has no power, so it will be a matter of Cotto on the offensive and Jennings backpedaling trying to box and keep range.

I think Cotto will ease into it after his loss, and then cut him down to the body. That is where he's vulnerable.

Wait a minute. If I'm not mistaken, a big reason why Williams is fighting Phillips is because HBO wasn't interested in a Williams/Jennings or a Williams/Rodriguez fight. So HBO is not interested in putting Williams vs. Jennings on BAD, bit they're open to having Cotto vs. Jennings on WCB. This is why I like Showtime better.

What does it matter when the fight takes place? Jennings was rejected because he wasn't seen as an acceptable opponent. This despite the fact that he was Paul's mando, and despite the fact that it would be on a low budget card. Cotto has no need to fight Jennings and it will be on a higher budget card.

This is a joke if true. Cotto doesn't need this no-hoper as a comeback fight. Put him up against someone atleast in the top 15.

Watch, this fight will end up being for the vacant WBO title. Can anyone name another alleged elite fighter who was as old as Cotto and had still won nothing but vacant titles?

A fringe top 15/20 guy with boxing ability but realistically Cotto should take him apart within 6 rounds.

    A safe comeback fight.

Is Jennings confirmed now or is this just another "possible" opponent along with Berto, Cintron, and the others?

Of course they had the money. They still scheduled Williams-Phillips.

Pretty much everything I've read says the opponents Top Rank is looking at are Cintron and Soto-Karass. Considering Soto-Karass is signed with Top Rank and would jump at the opportunity to take on Cotto, and is more TV-friendly than Jennings, I just can't believe this rumor. They're just hoping to get a Cotto-Cintron fight set up because it would be big money with the Puerto Ricans, but if that can't be made, then Cotto-Soto Karass is a given.
