Funny has this has escalated into something racist when it wasn't meant to. The guy that writes them is just writing about different prospects, he's not Puerto Rican himself. He said he intends to do a similar article for Mexican, Filipino's, Americans, Brits, Japanese fighters etc etc.

In his defence he did say under the age of 26, the Mc Arroyo's are both 26, I think they were deliberately left out on that basis.

In the first of our new "The Best of..." blog we are going to look at the "The Best of The Puerto Rican Prospects" which looks at the safe future of Puerto Rican boxing for the next decade or so by looking at the top Puerto Rican's under the age of 26.

Funny that we can say 3 world champions "choked" but I think that's the standard of PR boxing, you need to win a title then hold it and defend it properly.

Quintana deserves a mention there as well.

Cruz is liek the Mc Arroyo's at 26 so should be testing the championship water this year and his loss to Burgos was certainly controversial enough to defend him.

    Controversial?

Burgos clearly won that fight...If you ask me, the only controversial thing about that fight was it being an MD instead of a UD.

Luis Orlando Del Valle and Ivan Velasquez are EASILY numbers 2 and 3 behind Thomas Dulorme IMHO. The other guys listed under Dulorme are not on their level whatsoever. There is also a few other guys I believe that are not on that list. The Arroyo brothers are pretty legit to be honest, and theres another cat coming up at about 154lbs I believe.

    GUERRA BORICUAS!!!

Problem with Ivan Velasquez is he's not fought in...WELL over a year, he's 27 and wasting his career. I was a big fan but he's screwed himself.
