It is clear to me, Chavez is to comfortable anymore to dedicate himself to the level a boxer at his level should....maybe this will be a wake up call that will make him decide what he wants to be....

I don't like the guy because at time he seems not to respect the sport... And he knows better....

He called him out for rematch at 170:tired
How stupid can you be in this sport?
"Lemme just drain him 2 more lbs and I swear I'll get him..."
And then there is all the past robberies and PED/rec drug positives.
    Guy should just gtfo
Of course most fans have a basic respect for fighters beneath all the trash talk and banter, but that's pretty much all he should get.

He's admitted the guy is just too strong for him at the weight, so now wants to drain him. It's not good, but it means that chavez can't go any further in weight and must admit that his ability is not good enough to box bigger guys, only smaller guys. We all can't be great like his dad. If i was Chavez SR I would be having talks about retirement to my son, because this a hard job to be in when you're going to be taking beating against bigger guys.

A loss like that is a reality shock for the son, it might be what he needs. I know what it must be like when you got a dad that is brilliant, you think " I want to be just like that, and I got the genetics", but sh!t don't work out like that. Actually 99% of the time kids born to a talented parent in sports just don't make the grade compared to their parents because it's not just about the physical talent, it's also the mental ability the parent had aswell that made them successful. Being good doesn't come easy.

Spoiled brat, a bully and a cheat who doesn't give 100% to the sport. He might have done better in the fight if he focused on actually fighting instead of crying to the ref because he wasn't having his own way. Still, this was bound to happen sooner or later.

Yep, sooner or later. I thought it would of happened a couple of years ago, but reality is always going to bite you in the **** eventually.

Courage? The guy quit and from the first bell he was complaining to the referee to try and get Fonfara penalized when it was Chavez going in with his head. The first time he fought someone his own weight he folded in a pretty pathetic performance.

    yesser.

Jr. usually had the deck stacked in his favor. Fighting opponents who are about his same size or on PEDs themselves or when he wasn't on PEDs indicated what he really is.

Jr. is a tough kid. He literally stuck his head out so Fonfara could tee off on it all night long and yet he took it until he got caught. Not smart at all but he took it.

The problem I have with a fight like the one last night is it is so obvious where the sentiment lies. Jerry Cantu takes a point away from Fonfara for one shoulder thrust when Chavez was leading with his head all night long. What was Fonfara supposed to do? Cantu sucks. He is not ready for prime time. The guy should never officiate another big fight.

And Jr.'s antics were those of a spoiled brat for much of the fight. He was constantly whining, when, in fact, he was the one fouling most of the time.

Jr. is a product of his upbringing, being the son one of one of the all time greats. His retired father was abusive and inattentive, womanizing and uses drugs to excess, blowing all of his earnings in the ring. It is hard for me to condemn Jr. because of this. But he is a man now and needs to move forward and make the most of HIS life.

there's plenty of thugs in boxing deserving more hate than Chavez. his biggest problems are being lazy, stupid and untalented.
