Been awhile since the fans picked an underdog against a champion. I guess a lot of them thought Vitor would beat Anderson too. I know his style is supposedly bad for Anderson but what else makes everyone think Anderson is going to lose this fight?

Win or lose against Silva, Weidman is still something special.

As for why he's a bad matchup for Silva: he's just outright a tough matchup for anyone. His skillset isn't just unique, it's just frightenly advanced. Great wrestling pedigree (has been able to transition to MMA-Wrestling better than most), high-level BJJ (not common, at all, for a wrestler) and ever improving striking with an abnormally long reach. Similar to Jon Jones, really.

Weidman's a bum, Silva is going to school him.

Powerful wrestler + Good BJJ is an issue for most people. And seeing how Anderson can be taken down it makes sense.

    Still, Silva TKO 2.

A lot of people aren't picking Weidman purely because of Anderson Silva's aura.

Weidman has a very good chance and possesses all of the tools necessary to beat Anderson. Of course there is the danger of getting caught, and it is a very high possibility of it happeneing against Silva. I'm more worried about Weidman just being overwhelmed by the environment, this is his first HUGE fight. I hope it doesn't affect him and we get a good scrap though

I know when the public picks a clear underdog they usually get destroyed. Under dogs like matt serra who no one gave a shot are the ones that win.

He has two arms and two legs, and he is a 38 year old striker. He can and will be beaten.

Jacare is a much tougher matchup for Silva.

Seems like an easy matchup for Silva lol.

White love, white folks loving their white boys?

It's like you all get together and root for sonnen and wiedman.. It's weird.

I was confident Mendes could do a lot to trouble Aldo

That was the last time I fancied a challenger against one of the "dominant" champions.

I think Weidman and Hendricks can beat Silva and GSP personally, more so the latter.

No I do not believe this is true.

Weidman looks to be a better all round and more dangerous fighter than Jacare.
