Chisora would KO him... And he'll want to fight someone much more relevant, it's just who he is.

If they want to give him a big step up then someone with much more moderate power but a very solid chin would be great... I wouldn't be against him fighting say Wallin or Hrgovic, for example - it'd be ambitious, a big step up, but not likely to leave major lasting damage even if he loses.

That may be the case but with Bakole he can either look dangerous or terrible.

But yeah if Itauma dominates Bakole if they fought next month or so it would be a very good win for Itauma and would probably put him in the top 15.

Itauma should not be put under pressure, he is young and has time, he needs an opponent against whom he will have more rounds and who will offer some resistance, Balogun is not that kind of fighter, but after this fight Itauma will certainly have a much bigger test.

Wallin seems a safer bet. Ituama hasn’t been chin checked. Hrgovic isn’t a pillow fist and he’s got great timing/accuracy with his right. If it turns out that Ituama has a chin issue, Hrgovic will find that out real quick.

Chisora would be the biggest danger but also teach him the most and test him the most. Want to prove your warrior heart? Get in there with Chisora and live to tell the tale.

Exactly - Hrgovic isn't super powerful, but he's powerful enough against average chins, and that's more than Itauma has had to take so far...

He's also much more durable, which changes the dynamic compared with Itauma's previous fights.

Wallin would be less of a step up in some ways, he's less of a chin check and easier to hurt... Equally, he's more difficult to beat on points than Hrgovic is.

Definitely... But does Chisora want to finish his career against a prospect, regardless of the outcome?

    Nah - he'll go bigger.

To be fair, a similar case could be made for Joyce as a potential opponent - he bangs much harder than Hrgovic, but he's less durable (at least now) and his stamina and slow speed make him accessible whilst still a tough nights work... Plus the angle of beating him as a prospect when Dubois failed could be useful at a later date, for buildup - assuming he makes it that far.

Then again, they could (and probably will) just continue with fairly slow steps for now

You'd be a better manager than what I'm seeing out there today ,,Wallin is the perfect opponent at this stage of his career .A veteran who he might learn something from with a name that has faded to where he shouldn't be a threat.

have him fight every other month

    Kem Ljungquist- southpaw, beatable
    Frazier Clarke - British fight
Otto Wallin - durable tricky southpaw
Jermaine Franklin - durable no power
Nelson hysa - showcase KO fight
Pulev - shot name, will get him a regular WBA title and a KO win

That will get Moses to 17-0, pick up some learning experience, a minor world title, and relatively risk averse fashion to set him up better for bigger fights ahead. By then he would be 21 and way ahead of the curve and younger than everyone in the division worth a damn and could start challenging the top 15 guys next year.

You never quite know what's going to happen when you put a prospect in with a vet. Wallin is definitely a vet. But probably the right test?

To be clear, what I'd actually do with Ituama is have him fight about 5 tomato cans in a row, one per month on basic DAZN fight night cards (I don't know why managers/promoters don't utilize these more). As long as the purse is enough to cover his training costs and living expenses, these don't have to pay much. Then a 1 month break (during which he is staying sober, following proper nutrition, and is doing some basic jogging and lifting), then a long camp in preparation for a real test like Wallin.

This is even how you promote him too. Mike Tyson built up a ton of momentum by fighting another cab driver every TWO WEEKS sometimes at the beginning. He was in permanent camp, and the constant fights didn't matter because they were against guys who barely touched him. Probably got hurt more in sparring than during those fights.
