i hope the second last paragraph does'nt happen.would hate to see up and comers like Tomlinson hurt by the actions of Green/Mundine.:-(
The reporter fails to mention that Danny has given young fighters like Will a massive profile by getting them on his cards and getting them the exposure to go on to better things. To say that boxing fans won't follow Will because of the Green/Briggs fight is the biggest load of **** i have ever heard:dead
The "True" fight fans will still follow these up and comers but because of the **** which has been put on PPV in recent times this as an avenue for the casual / semi true fight fan will dry up...the headline fight is the clincher in forking out the cash for PPV....it's this exposure which is in trouble for the next generation.
Posted this article yesterday in a different thread. It appears as though the writer has plagerised the article from one seen a few days, perhaps a week ago, and just filled it in a bit. Much of it is rubbish - but the general theme is unfortunately not that far off the mark. The next 6 months are going to be very important to the future of Australian boxing, and whether we like it or not a lot of it is riding on the backs of Green and Mundine.
I didn't see your post. Nothing new in the article, I just thought it was funny that it was from Fiji, & Interesting to see how the rest of the world is looking at our Boxing scene.
Yeah, no drama on the post mate. The Yanky forum had a thread that was going bananas about Briggs v Green - very strong views. As far as the Fiji article goes, it was seriously just stolen and slightly re-worded from an Aussie article - may have been from the Sydney Morning Herald (can't remember exactly).
Agree with you Buster. Everything these days is $$$ driven, and it's the numbnuts who've continued to fund crap cards that help ensure they continue happening.
mundog gets less than the **** he deserves. he deserves ottke....every fight. in a ****en coma for 10 minutes!!!!!!
So Sorry Sally, I forgot to tell everyone that you PM'd me and begged me to post this one for you....
The timing might be a bit surprising, but at least they are talking Aussie boxing. Interesting that they are talking Aussie boxing in another country, although it's not for the right reasons.
he means its a rip off word for word of a Paul Kent article.lazy journalism but its only the Fiji Times.
