even a come back Rocky prob beats him…just depends how long the comeback is. Williams could never hang w the upper echelon of bangers in the hw division. Especially one w great stamina and chin.

Rocky was a smart guy and realized his time was way past.

Not coming back was a wise decision. Liston would have flattened Rocky like a pizza...

What if Rocky hadn't died in that train accident and stayed on long enough to fight that Australian Lennox Lewis in 2058?

    Rocky KO8.

It's too late for Rocky to comeback now.

Their is zero chance that a Rocky two years out of retirement with a bad back would beat any top ten contender.

I agree. These comments are absolutely absurd.

I’ve said this many times here … his acolytes like Rocky Jim would pick him head to head over Goliath of Gath if not Godzilla, or would bet on him to survive if he was standing at ground zero at Hiroshima. I understand why people adore him, but some of the acolytes are on the planet Twylo with their adoration.

IMO there would be a legitimate chance of him really getting hurt in a fight with Liston.

I thought the comeback idea was for Johansson, not Liston. Knowing what we know that Rocky did not know, I think there was still a decent chance of 50-0, with 44 Knockouts. Then retire again. Hahaha.

I think some top tier candidates r prob out the window…not everyone is a top tier fighter. Comebacks rarely ever turn out well for anyone past the two year mark.

Exactly my point. If he could've remained a contender and be able to fight on par with follow contenders, I highly doubt he would've stayed retired

Maybe. The man hated his manager to death and had one fight left on contract. He really didn’t want to give Weill another dime. That being said if he had the fire to train and get back into it I don’t doubt he comes back. He just didn’t have it anymore.

I wish he would've gotten the coveted 50. But yeah I know he hated Weill. I remember hearing a story that Marciano's father made his son spaghetti, and Weill yelled at him for it. Rocky slammed Weill against the wall and told him never to talk to his father like that again.
