Wow just amazing!! Light on this feet for 12 rounds Controlled the distance Powerful right jab stopping Ruiz in his track Amazing left jab hook Ruiz unbale to cut the ring (too much lard lol) 10/10 Display of boxing!!
Sorry to break the fun, and I know a lot of people don't mind this tactic, but Joshua had to rely on clinching a LOT during this fight, which helps him tremendously considering he's the much longer fighter. Having all the skills in the world to close distance, deal against a long jab, cut the ring, wont be enough if the referee allows constant clinching.
Clinching was the main times he got caught, after stepping back he was getting caught with counters, compare the way AJ didn`t clinch in the final round here to how a tired Bruno hugged McCall to death.
Not the best fight out there but AJ did his job. Good work making that fat pig looking like a FAT PIG. Congrats
Funny you say this cuz the only time Ruiz land (illegal blow I dare say) is when AJ clinched. Without the clinch it would had been an even bigger beat down.
That 50lb stopped Ruiz from closing the distance. So no, no master piece here. Imagine a Tua or Tyson in there....
Anthony Joshua did what he had to do. Credit to him for that. I'm disappointed in Andy Ruiz, who was incredibly plodding and did not seem to come with ambition. Despite the money, he will be gutted with that poor performance.
it was effective I'll give him that , but effective showings aren't always good for boxing. Guys like Klitschko are what turned many away from the heavyweight division for years.
One guy realised he ****ed up in the first fight the other won the lottery. Just shows you the result...
Brilliant performance. As someone just said on the British Forum, if that was Tyson Fury his fans would be screaming masterclass.
It was disgusting seeing Ruiz come in so effing heavy. What the hell was he thinking, that AJ would stand in front of him and let him hit at will? No 3 match please nobody wants to see it. AJ did a good job on there, congratulations champ
Masterpiece? lol, not even close. This is a bit of a bitter sweet victory to be honest, AJ took him to the distance, he couldn't do what Ruiz did to him and stop him inside the distance. Lennox's revenge over Rahman shits all over this "lets just jab and avoid trading" snoozefest that went 12 rounds. Disappointing and boring fight when compared to their first one.
Tua would be fat as hell (as well) - he was disgracefully fat in his only title fight against Lennox Lewis
