Bhop has longevity because he took time to perfect his craft and style. Jones relied on god gifted talent. When his skills eroded he got brain damaged.

Without the play acting Trinidad fights Roy Jones and bhop doesn’t make half the money.

Hops is more accomplished than RJJ? You know RJJ has held the same titles Hops had, plus a few more, INCLUDING a HW belt. Hops has a string of defenses, that's about the only card he can play w/ RJJ.

Both are good, I just can’t put Roy over bhop on longevity alone.

I've never been a huge fan of Floyd's, but of course he's more accomplished than Bernard.

Bernard had phenomenal longevity which deserves huge respect. But longevity is only one factor to consider.

Bernard showed no real ambition when he was younger. He was happy to be the big fish in the small pond, where he held size advantages over most of his opponents.

He held a title for 6 years and was happy to fight whoever was put in front of him.

He's on record stating that he made incredible sacrifices to remain at MW, as it was easier than fighting bigger guys at SMW and LHW, despite the fact that there were better fighters there.

He's on record stating that he liked to drag guys to a weight they weren't familiar with in order to gain advantages over them.

He's on record stating that he could have fought at SMW and LHW much sooner than he did.

Whilst I've got huge credit for him fighting the likes of Tarver and Kovalev etc in his 40's, he wouldn't take those kinds of fights when he was younger.

He only moved up to LHW when he'd got nowhere else to go and he was in a position where he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

He swerved a 2002 rematch with Roy by ridiculously demanding a $10m, despite his biggest purse being $2.5m at the time. He then spent a year out of the ring before he challenged out all of the JMW champs live on HBO.

His biggest wins were against guys who'd peaked at much lower weights.

    He fouled and cheated.

Again, he deserves huge props for still being a world class fighter at almost 50, but taking all of the above into account, he really isn't the legend that he's made out to be.

Roy fell hard and fast. But he did more in his prime and he accomplished more.

I'm talking about pathetically rolling around on the floor feigning injury, despite telling people for years that he was a tough guy from the streets of Philly.

This was no coincidence. GGG from Kazakhstan. Hopkins from the US. GGG robbed on a terrible decision.

I never enjoyed watching Hopkins fight. He was a con man, always pulling crap, fake injuries, hitting guys on the hips and below the belt when the ref was on the opposite side. Boring fights for the most part.
