Why are all of his fans and supporters the ones crying then? Why are they bitterly defensive? I think everybody knows if Golovkin won it was by a razor close margin. He looked more on the level of Jacobs than he did clearly superior to Jacobs, and that wasn't supposed to be the case... "Better than Hagler!" they screamed from the mountain tops for years. That's why his fans are so defensive and sad about that fight. It's the same reason that Golovkin "haters" who scored the fight for Golovkin still seem so happy about the fight. Because years of debate on this site have occurred over how good Golovkin is historically. He fought his best opponent and he barely beat him. And, for the record, that best opponent was none other than Mora-conqueror Daniel Jacobs. Wipe the tears. Rest up. You'll come out the other end of this one stronger!

I thought I was reading one of Shockie's rants where he goes on and on about "all of his fans" as he goes round and round in circles. Where are all these multitudes of ignorant fans you speak of? What you actually mean is about two or three people on this forum. Way to exaggerate - your just talking out of your arse.

People see what they want to see... would be my response to "is about two or three people on this forum. Way to exaggerate." The internet, and this forum too, is filled with the goons I have described.

Jacobs fought a great fight. He really surprised me and others with his determination and workrate. He also managed to take GGG's shots till the final bell, which I didn't see coming.

    That said, he lost.

Yeah, he threw tons of flashy combos ... that Golovkin slipped, parried or ducked under. If you count shots against the gloves as points-scoring, then Jacobs might have a case. Fact is that GGG pressed the action, avoided the incoming, and landed clean shots with a very heavy jab that had Jacobs' face all lumped up by the end of the fight. Golovkin looked as fresh as a daisy. As far as I'm concerned GGG fought a textbook fight against Jacobs.

You must be going out of your way to engage with them as there seems to be quite reasonable discussion generally only marred by a few fan boys and extremists.

If you only think there are a few, then I must believe you find most of the extremists to be accurate, thus making you an extremist.

Lol c'mon man. Do you truly believe that there are only a few people that make these claims? Just look through any GGG thread that has some kind of comparison with ATGs, or Hagler.

Nah - I don't find the extremists interesting enough to keep seeking their attention. If you think your going to convince them by all means carry on. :icon_popcorn:

I probably have them on ignore - the real question is why don't you?

Not razor close. Competitive? Definitely. Razor close? That's a stretch. If it is was razor close there would be a better argument of Jacobs winning. There isn't one. Golovkin clearly won a competitive fight.

There are plenty of actual industry people who disagree with that.

Regardless of what anybody scored on this site, that is worth a mention. It would be different if it were only obscure posters on forums saying it. But that's not the case, no matter how hard some people on here like you try to make it seem that way even when unprovoked.

Okay look, honestly... other fighters are not actually a good account of what happened. Sometimes they have something to gain from a certain outcome, sometimes they weren't watching close enough, and sometimes they are just bad at scoring fights. It isn't a good argument to use. Just go by what happened in the fight itself. What happened in the fight, objectively, is that Jacobs was outlanded, pressured constantly, dropped, and hurt on multiple occasions. That didn't happen to Golovkin.
