That's some delusional **** right there. Sweet Pea was way too slick and good for Julio. I loved watching Chavez fight but Sweet Pea was all wrong for him. How some dip**** comes up with a video like that is beyond me.
If you watch the fight from beggining to end, the fact is that the two low blows in the 6th round were dead center and deliberate. Watching the fight from the beggining you could see that Whitaker turned the tide of the fight around with those low blows. Up to that 6th round Chavez had been applying alot of pressure and forcing Whitaker to run backward circles. All of Whitaker's best rounds came after those low blows. Having said that, I've never made it the central focus in discussing Chavez-Whitaker, nor do I think it should be made a focus. But to simply dismiss two hard and deliberate dead center low blows by Whitaker as if they did'nt happen is absurd.
LOL! Those low blows were deliberate Freddy! Where are all those people in this forum that made a huge deal of Miguel Cotto's low blows of Zab Judah and pointing to it as the turning point of the fight?????
Whitaker was brilliant, even when placing low blows. Once the ref went behind Chavez he would throw one, and he landed several.
Whitaker by nature does'nt key in to work the body. He is a good body puncher however. He varies it up and down and goes low as long as he knows he's being allowed to get away with it. Those of us who witnessed his career know Whitaker could bring out the dirty and start to foul his opponents like Hopkins is great at doing when it suited him.
I was not a Chavez fan, but I remember saying they should have taken at least a point from Whitiker. This way he would not continue with the low blows. Besides that, it was one hell of a performance by Whitiker.
im not sticking up for whitaker, but were ALL the low blows in the fight landed by him? did chavez not land a few of his own? i thought whitaker was great that night, his boxing skills were just unbelievable, for me, he could have beaten almost anybody that night.
