Thanks, it has been years since I have seen it. Actually, I am going to see if I can find it to re-watch.
I'm watching the fight now and Chavez started with the low blows. So far two in round four and hitting during the breaks. Who the hell is PeeWee, lol. Pacheco has me laughing.
Finished the fight and there was no points taken from anyone. Good fight. I have to say that Whitiker did take over after the foul filled six round.
Yeah let's ignore the hip shots and career filled with lowblows that Chavez has a history of lol. They both fought rough but I doubt that really effected the outcome and I feel Chavez did better than given credit for. If this was at LW or SFW Chavez would've been more dangerous for Pea but I give credit to Whitaker even if there were lows to the fight.
That was some dirty **** from Whitaker, but i doubt the outcome would have been much different. Whitaker was simply brilliant that night and Chavez was never really good at that weight.
I dont get it, that doesn't seem to make very much sense to me at all. you admit that you believe "whitaker turned the tide of the fight around with those low blows," yet you've "never made it the central focus in discussing Chavez-Whitaker, nor do (you) think it should be made a foucs." How can you even say that? why don't you just plainly admit that you believe whitaker won the fight because of the low blows?
Whitaker did perform well and turned the tide after those low blows. But I cant in good concious just lay the blame on the low blows. Whitaker did box well for most of the 2nd half of the fight and it just cant be blamed solely on the low blows. The low blows played a role to affect Chavez' come foward aggression for a few rounds, but I cant say for sure whether without the low blows Chavez turns up the heat even more and pressures Whitaker into mistakes. Whitaker was slick and sneaky, and certainly he deserves some credit here with or without the lowblows. I do believe a point should have been taken from Whitaker. Had that happened, Chavez would have been declared the winner and more than likely because of the outcry from the media there would have been an immediate rematch.
Youtube is the biggest collection of complete idiots on planet earth, it's actually not a new low, I've seen far worse.
I agree with this. I think at the lower weights and a younger Chavez the fight is a lot different. That being said, the fight was closer than a lot of Sweet Pea fans had it. And Cortez has ALWAYS been a shitty ref. Keith
Judge Micky Vann took it upon himself to take a point away in the 6th for a low blow which the ref didn't call. Why i stressed it was illegal.
