Questions have to be asked. Some people need to have a good look at themselves. Some need to quit. All need to remember that this is a sport where there are peoples lives at risk, and be more worried about that then their standing in the boys club on the committee.

I've been seeing and hearing a lot of things lately that lead me to believe we need wholesale change in our officials.

*A judge whose cards were not completed when the referee/scoring judge came to collect them, forcing him to make a return trip to pick them up. The ref/sj later realised this was because the judge was watching him mark his own card so he could copy it.

    * The weigh in held over the phone in Victoria. Thats right, they phoned a fighters weight in over the phone, telling the commission, 'Its all right, we just weighed him'. And they accepted it.

    * Brad Vocale has stepped down from his duties over an argument about personal sponsorship. The commission kicked up a fuss as he had a patch on one of his sleeves. This was in Qld. We'll come back to this.

    * Tuesday nights weigh in. Fight supervisor John Hogg. Weigh in brought forward an hour. When Hogg shows up, is informed by the referee of the bout, Derek Milham take a bow, that the weigh in has already occured, using scales from Mundines camp. Fighters are already eating.

    Some questions;

What were the official weights as recorded by John Hogg on the official Qld commission scales?

What is Derek Milhams role in the Qld commission? Can he oversee a Qld weigh in?

Was this a WBA sanctioned fight or not?

Why does the Qld commission make a stand when it comes to a patch on a sleeve but not when one of their own officials has not participated in a weigh in?

How could they sanction the Mitrevski-Dulog fight last night? It was unfortunate that both of their opponents pulled out but by deciding to let them fight each other and not forego a payday they let one fighter participate who was at least 4kg lighter and puthim in grave danger. Who would have been held accountable if Dulog had been seriously injured?

Who was the fight supervisor last night? What were his duties? Did he fulfill them all on the night or did he abrogate responsibility to someone else as he was 'too busy'?

But you know, lets just carry on and be happy when the circus roles into town and we get the chance to run around and look important. Lets keep making a mockery of the rules and putting fighters lives in danger.

We carry on about hometown cooking in Germany and the US, yet this country continually sets new standards when it comes to toothless commissions and officials. Which is a shame because we do have some world class referees and judges here. Unfortunately they remain in a small minority.

I fully expect nothing I've raised will be answered. Why would it? Just keep that status quo and wait until the next card. Everything will blow over.

An absolute disgrace, and I've barely scratched the surface.

Good summary Leon, and as you alluded to above there's certainly more to it.

Little wonder team Mundine, unlike most other circus', don't go on the road. If they fought overseas they might be forced to actually follow some rules outside of their own making.

They've certainly got the locals trained to toe their line, rather than the other way around.

Leon - An abomination is what it was. The live crowd were voting with their feet.

What about Mundine getting dropped and ruling it a slip in the last round?

The Money Bill Williams fight - Good god.

    Leon,

Under state sporting laws if an official is not present at wiegh in would this put not only the standings of all the fight results into question but also the legitimacy of the overseeing sporting commission.

Team Mandy may have put new life into Oz boxing many years ago but now they are sucking it dry quicker than most realise. Nasser is a germ that is sucking every last penny out of the sport & won't give a flying **** what state he leaves the sport in. Hyder is right behind him trying to feed off the left overs.

Boxrec doesn't even say it was for a title, it says "Billed as WBA International World Title"

Foxsports needs to shut the hell up with the whole "three time world champ in descneding order" ****.

The whole problem with World Boxing at the Moment is theres to many different Divisions,WWBC,WBC,WBA to name a few and teh WBA for one is a bloody disgrace just check out the WBA Top 10 in all divisions its a bloody joke.

Years ago they fought for one World Title no Bull**** Interim Crap or Mickey Mouse Manipulated Fights, and Heaven help You if You knocked bask a World Title shot Your career would be over.

Turn the clock forward to now particularly in the WBA they pick and choose there fights knock back sanctioned Fights, and seem to do as they please its time for the Powers that be in all Divisions to take control because if they dont Boxing will become like World Championship Wrestling a Manipulated show put on for Fools that dont really care about our Great Sport.!!!

mate ive been yelling about how corrupt our officals are now for a long time, it has become nothing more than boys club. These officals need to be named and shamed on a public website with footage included of their crimes. What these people are doing is criminal and if you agree with what they are doing then i guess you are criminal also.

The goverment needs to put this organisation in check but it wont happen anytime soon because most adverage boxing fans will only bch and moan about it, you would be lucky to get 5% whom would actually write letters to parliment in order to have something done. Sometimes i feel that the goverment doesnt really care much about boxing at all and allow the organisation to regulate itself which they are incapable of doing so i feel, time and time again complaints thrown out without any reasons or published explinations, hardly a transparent process but this is to be expected from a shaddy orginsation.

Its good to see i wasnt just a one eyed sook and finally people are starting to come around and realise we have a problem in australia with boxing officals.
