Leon, Not questioning you or your sources, but has this been reported in the media ANYWHERE?
As far as I know, no, which is why I wrote something about it. Take a look at the general standard of boxing reporting in the newspapers and you'll understand why. I'm not phased if no-one believes me, I asked around and the op was my two cents worth on the whole situation.
I think they were all points well made. Somewhere along the line, someone has to put a stop to this wholesale abuse of standards that are loose enough as it is. From what I understand, the WBA title was won by Vanes Martirosyan on June 5, 2010, outpointing Joe Greene, so advertising that the Mundine Jerez fight was for a title, is not only wrong & misleading, it probably breaches civil advertising laws. They may well claim that the fight was made before that fight took place but that doesn't excuse false advertising. Sooner or later atsch
Should just give everyone a belt and everyone a title Rodin. It's almost reached that point already anyway. Even the sports radio station here was crowing the next morning about how Mundine had become the first to win 3 titles in descending order etc, etc, and it's plainly total bull****! If you finish your career these days with less than 4 or 5 titles your a fairdinkum nobody!
Isn't that the truth. Just have a look at this blokes 1970's record. In just 3 years, 35 fights for 4 losses & not a title in sight. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=94075&cat=boxer He's need another room built to put his trinkets in today.
Had the application. Had the right trainer. Just one example of so many from the 70's in particular. There weren't many belts around in those days, and they were bloody hard to win as you'll well remember.
How do you do things at your circus? Clown. :rofl:rofl:rofl You truly think that was a knockdown? I suggest you hit up chb for a job. :-(
I dont no how people keep going and paying 4 these fights? People will buy anything, no wonder Green and Mundine wont retire charging $50 buck a fight.Thats just bull****.
Particularly when they put on sub-standard cards like team Mundine did recently, AGAIN! While ******s like 20a87 continue to blindly worship Mundine and pay for the crap cards team Mundine continue to serve up, nothing's likely to change Brocky.
Hate 2 say it but Aussie boxing sucks. If u act nice and call out Mundine u will get more credit and money than a man who fights anybody anytime and doesnt charge $50 buck 2 fight no1. U can watch fights in the states 4 less money.wat a joke.
