McGrain's list / articles are an excellent reference point for all Boxing aficionados.

So you wouldn't include Pacquaio or Gonzalez?

If it could be done, a separate list would be great.

Generally an ATG list should not include active fighters as their entire story has not been completed.

I agree, but in the case of a Pacquaio or a Gonzalez I’d make an exception. Chocolatito is basically finished and his losses won’t count against him nor will he be able to score significant wins. Pacquaio is already 40 and has much to work with and no way of going down. If anything he has a shot at enhancing his legacy though I’d give him no shot at Spence or Crawford.

Yes, if I did it again, I wouldn't include active fighters. It's very very difficult. I did do an update to include a detailed account of Floyd after he retired and he shot way, way up. A fighter being retired does affect at least me in a very real way. Pacquiao will undergo a huge leap when he retires too.

I'll also say that the desire to do it is good but you need someone who will to spend hours...and hours...and hours doing it, i mean enough hours that it literally can be converted into weeks.

Finally you do need a supreme commander at the top and not the Dave Clark Five. And whoever that is he (or she!) needs to be able to command the respect of at least 90% of the people who are involved and they need to be able to hear "no" from that person.

I'll be absolutely frank, it would be extremely difficult now. Back when I did it there were a lot of guys who were very very strong on lower weights. Almost none of those guys post here now.
