is the guy tough? YES. was he tyson bests sparring partner ever? YES did he fight tyson in a real match? NO not sure if because its cliche to say mccall has a monster chin or whatever....but take a good look at his record...he has fought over 65 times and you might see 6 or 8 guys you will recognize. all im saying is, if you somehow manage to not fight ANY of the guys below , then youre damn chin apparently hasnt been checked...for all time greatness.... BOWE? Mercer? Morrison? Holyfield? Moorer? Witherspoon? Foreman? Ruddock? either Klitscho? Tua? and lesser extents but can still crack Shannon Briggs Alex Stewart Bert Cooper Rahman a great chin is someone who fights great punchers and dont go down....ever heard of marion wilson?
Well, he gets a lot of credit for basically letting Lennox Lewis unload clean shots on him with his hands down when he was having a breakdown in their rematch.
Frank Bruno hits harder than 90% of those guys on your list and McCall took his best shots without flinching.
i think you are right...... the heaviest hitters mccall faced were bruno and lewis....i mean holyfield went 24 rounds with lewis and took a ton of shots and was smaller than mccall and gets no credit.
alot of people took frank brunos punches without flinching, tyson, witherspoon, lewis, to name a few....name some guys worth a **** bruno knocked out? man your assessment was just so bad...bruno wasnt putting people to sleep like ruddock did, or foreman, or tyson.....youre way off....
Bruno stunned Tyson in their first fight. I think that was the first time Tyson was stunned in his pro career.
Sugar Ray Robinson - now that is a chin. Nearly 200 fights with 1 stoppage (in the 14th round, in tremendous heat - the ref had to be replaced because the original fainted, moving up in weight, Robinson well past his peak, against the LHW champion, winning the fight handily on the scorecards). McCall did have a very good one in the modern era though.
Its amazing to think that the referee couldnt handle the heat he fainted, yet the 2 fighters fought that hard for 14 rounds. I mean, the ref just has to watch the fighters and obv move out of their way, meanwhile the boxers are running a marathon more or less.
