A non fan GGG and Canelo debate

After 34 fights, that Lemieux and Geale are the best names on his fight record says it all.

What bugs me about people on here (not you) is when they talk about 'ducking' etc and they totally fail to understand that boxing is a JOB, with a short career and it is the role of a boxer's management to maximise earnings for their employer (and themselves). Most boxers who have got to the top level would fight anyone in my view (it's that drive and self-belief which has got them there), but it makes sense to get the timing right. Canelo hasn't been ducking GGG, he and his team are making sure the timing is right so they can go into negotiations with the strongest hand possible for a fight which could end in a loss.

There has been a power struggle in the sport since FM retired for who will take over the position of boxing biggest name with GGG and Canelo fighting it out for this position well before they finally make it into the ring. Now Golden Boy has won that particular battle, they can sit down with GGG's team and thrash out a deal to suit them, mainly on their terms.

Why can't people understand this part of the sport? It's a sport/business... always has been. People on here are always saying this person is ducking another, that fighter is ducking this fighter. Those who throw the word 'duck' around here no little about this game.

now the minute ggg decides to pass on a ward fight...its "smart business...makes sense...he wants to unify"

all of the sudden smart business is important

its so transparent....

i realize boxing is a business too...thats why im willing to give guys a pass for some things as long as they, and their fanbases, stay grounded.....its important to stay humble and watch what you say...you go around talking about 3 divisions and your fans say you beat anyone ever....u better go back it up....or face floyd-like scrutiny
