I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread but I have a record of top 10 p4p, I've posted on other boxing forums. So I'll post my current p4p and update it periodically. Other members can also post and update as they see best. This is my criteria to be eligible: Said fighter must have had at least one championship fight with an opponent ranked in the top tens of either the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO or The Ring. Said fighter must have had at least one fight in the previous 12 months. Said fighter must himself be ranked in the top tens of either the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO or The Ring. How ranking criteria works: The fighter with the most championship caliber wins will usually be ranked higher. Rankings will depend on championship wins as well as the fighters visible skill level. The latter is of course subjective. A fighter moves up the number of ranks based on my discretion, but usually if a lower ranked P4P fighters beats a higher ranked P4P fighter, he takes that spot. For example, if ranked 7 beats ranked 5, ranked 7 automatically becomes ranked 5. When a P4P ranked fighter loses, his next ranking will depend on the above criteria (1-3) as well as my discretion. When two P4P fighters fight and it is a draw, there will be no change to the rankings. If a P4P fighter fails to fight a single opponent in the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO or The Ring ****zine rankings, he may be removed from the top 10 at my discretion. If a fighter has no fights in the previous 12 months, he will be removed form the list. P4P week commencing 11 November 2024: 1. Oleksandr Usyk 2. Naoya Inoue 3. Terence Crawford 4. Artur Beterbiev 5. Dmitry Bivol 6. Saul Alaverz 7. Devin Haney 8. Jesse Rodriguez 9. Gervonta Davis 10. Vasyl Lomachenko
I just wanted to update this to mark the end of 2024...nothing changes really: 1. Oleksandr Usyk 2. Naoya Inoue 3. Terence Crawford 4. Artur Beterbiev 5. Dmitry Bivol 6. Saul Alaverz 7. Devin Haney 8. Jesse Rodriguez 9. Gervonta Davis 10. Vasyl Lomachenko I think some guys will need to step it up in 2025, especially Crawford, Alvarez needs a marquee opponent too and Davis needs to fight someone with a pulse! Loma is also kind of just in at 10 by default because there is a lack of depth atm, let's hope a few guys rise up. Dubois beating Parker might add him into the mix.
How can Devin Haney be p4p when he only had 1 fight in 2024 where he got completely battered around the ring by Ryan Garcia?
In no reality are Tank, Loma (I'm fans of both), or Haney near the top 10 P4P. Bivol and Beterbiev are both far too high, if they are there, they're at the bottom
Was hoping you'd ask about my P4P 1 Inoue 2 Crawford 3 Usyk 4 Canelo 5 Lopez 6 Rodriguez 7 Navarette 8 Beterbiev 9 Bivol 10 Stevenson
How can LWs & WWs who walk around over 180lbs be on any serious p4p lists? Crawford & Haney are not p4p fighters they are weight grifters who get found out the minute they start fighting individuals closer to their own size.. & in Haneys case well before that LOL.. what Loma, Usyk & Canelo do is my definition of p4p...
So you have 7 of the same fighters I had lol Usyk not being p4p 1 is crazy imo but hey, you gave it a good try.
I don't really get why you have such grievances over Beterbiev and Bivol being high on another list when you've got Teo, Bam, and Vaquero all above them despite none of them having resumes as accomplished as Beterbiev and Bivol imo.
First, what's funny about having 7 of the same fighters? That means we agree on the majority........I specifically only mentioned 3 that my position is don't belong there at this time..... 2nd: Inoue and Crawford both did what Usyk did.............................before him. And Inoue did it in only 13 months. Crawford did it against a P4P peer that was ranked as highly as him. Both also have 4 divisions under their belts. Yeah I did give it a good try, succeeded too. Usyk should be applauded for what he's done, he's literally the apex predator of all of boxing (as in there is no boxer on Earth that beats him over 12 rounds). Inoue and Crawford both outdid him though and are both higher IMO.
Teo as bad as he is (and I personally dislike him) beat who I had for years had as p4p # 1. He really beat 2 undisputed guys in 2 different weight classes (because I don't care what anyone says Loma was undisputed at LW). No one has done that. His peaks are way higher than Bivol or Beterbiev even if his valleys are lower. Bam didn't gain "every" belt but is there any dispute he knocked off the top guy in those 2 respective divisions? He beat the top. Navarette was on his 4th division. He slipped up chasing greatness (same reason I still have Canelo so high). His chase epitomizes p4p And I'm not being hard on Beterbiev or Bivol (like em both), but at the end of the day, they're dueling over 1 division, if either went up to CW and collected everything, I'd have them higher. If Bivol (I know it wouldn't be possible for Beterbiev) moved down and did this, I'd have him higher. This is no different than why I couldn't place Spence any higher than I used to.
Mostly agree with your perspective, but come on, we’re talking P4P, and somehow, you don’t give Usyk credit for beating the #2 guy at HW who outweighed him significantly and had 6 inches of height and more armreach than him? You have to take that into consideration when comparing these guys. Inoue and Crawford have done incredible things, but they haven’t had to overcome what Usyk did with Fury…twice.
I'll never get why Crawford is so high on people's lists right now.. he's had 5 fights in as many years.. & against who? 11 fight Madrimov who'd fought NO ONE.. Spence who since 2020 has had just TWO fights.. & a bad accident.. who else? Avanesyan? The guy lost to Kavaliasukas years ago.. what was the point of that? & to top it off Crawfords probably weighing close to 190lbs between camps .. this is not p4p Territory. Lopez is a no for me too.. he got pieced up by Kambosos & barely beat Ortiz & Martin... i can't even really give him Taylor, Taylors clearly a spent force now.
