Beterviev and Bivol were both ranked in the top 6 going into their fight IIRC, if not definitely top 7

Yes it was a controversial result but Clenelo wouldn't even get a look in the P4P debate if we held all his unofficial losses against him

Also we have to factor in that the best fighters from the US are not road warriors fighting in their opponent's backyards with the refs and judges coming from their opponent's backyards like foreigners are doing against them or bare minimum are fighting on the road much more than they do

Even at the age of 36 when well past his prime and with tons of mileage on his clock Loma is clearly not only one of the 10 best talents in the world but he's also the most skilled and has one of the best resumes. He's also routinely facing giants who are much or way bigger than him which is a P4P worthy as it gets

He should only have 1 loss, to Teofimo who should have 3, all of which against opponents smaller than him or his size in his backyard/country because he wouldn't dare do once what others in the list do religiously so whilst a great talent he has benefited from home country cooking numerous times

Haney should be nowhere near the top 10. Aside from losing to a 20lb lighter/six inch shorter reach Loma in his own backyard with a home ref, three home judges and a 36 hour weigh in, he's a gigantic weight bully who has literally never beaten a world champion close to his size which should be the bare minimum requirement for warranting a P4P ranking

In terms of skills, the eye test, and being the best fighters in the world these are the top boys

In no order and it's not difficult to see who the most talented fighters in he world are

    Usyk
    Loma
    Inoue
    Crawford
    Bivol
    Beterbiev
    Bam-Rod
    Clenelo
    Teofimo
    Twink
    Ioka
    Shakur
    Opetaia
    Junto
    Chocolate Tito

    Honourable mention

    Super Boots
    Benevidez
    Janibek

    Maybe Morrell too

I might be missing one or two leprechauns from the baby leprechaun divisions

But some of them don't have the resume to match their talents, won't dare test themselves to try and prove it, are past their best, or have only proven it against fighters their size or smaller, not bigger or way bigger

A true P4P great will be a complete fighter who can land their punches against any style and beat bigger or much bigger world champions and world class opponents on a deck stacked against them

Almost everyone has Biev 4 and Bivol 5.

It was an incredibly close high skilled battle.

I give Usyk a lot of credit. He proved that a HW doesn't have to be a SHW to reign in this era. But as for Inoue and Crawford, 4 and 5 divisions respectively, I don't think this can be overlooked. Inoue in particular is just a little force of nature.

Because he's still done this over 5 divisions, and a lot of people (myself included) thought Spence would win. I've never seen anyone laud David A as a badge of honor on Crawford's resume. He was simply a stay busy. As for Crawford being 190 between camps, that's a big stretch, I'm currently 185-190 and depending on how hard I'm going at the time I'm anywhere between 175-180, he's nowhere near my size height or otherwise. I'd say he's definitely 170+. And everybody significantly sheds weight. We can't in good faith point at one person doing it when everyone is. There's almost no boxers that don't walk around 2-3 or more weight classes above where they fight.

    Good post.

I was flabbergasted at OPs inclusion of Haney.

Thanks. To be fair, The Ring had him top 10 and many others did too. We've literally never seen Haney in with anyone world class his size and the only time we allegedly did he got battered

I knew people would discredit the 11 fight Madrimov. Use the fact he only had 11 pro fights. If TC didn't fight him, critics would say it was a duck. If TC fought and lost, haters would say he was a hypejob.

Don't get it twisted. Madrimov was a tough opponent that was skilled, and strong. Good win for Bud.

You can argue his place in the PFP list, but he did become undisputed in 2 weight classes, which is a very big accomplishment. Add to the mix he never had a controversial win, beat the other top guy at welter weight. A fight he completely dominated. A fight, that going into, was a 50/50 pickem fight. Only after the complete dismantling of Spence did the excuses come pouring in. I see him top 3-5.

His dad put an appeal in to the mods.

Having Haney on there is lunacy. He got beat pillar to post in the last fight
