Let's have a nice thread, for a change. It's a Saturday afternoon. It's tepid outside, just about right for that new jacket you picked up the other week. As you amble atop leaves, a feeling rises up through the crackling - you fancy a pint. You voraciously meander toward your established public house to share a pint with any current British boxer. Who do you choose to sit opposite you, setting the world to rights? I've always though Martin Murray is probably good craic over a bevvy
Great topic! I have to say Tyson Fury I think he would be one funny bugger to have a couple of pints with. An honarble mention would be Masher Dodd.
Scott Harrison ...... buy a few rounds, get the popcorn in and sit back and enjoy the latest action flick unfold !!
I would go for Danny Williams (even though i think he doesn't drink alcohol!) Or Ricky Hatton would probably be good to have a few pints with
Was going to say Scott Harrison my favourite ever boxer but I don't think alcohol would be best, I like a pint but would prefer a chat with him over a coffee lol. Would like a pint with Fury or Bellew (nice guy away from his promotional acts) but if it was one person over a pint maybe Darren Barker. Seems a top bloke who likes to have a laugh whilst enjoying a beer.
Extending it alittle to people in boxing i would love to sit down and have a couple of pints with Eddie Hearn... he is clearly good for a story and would love to get some behind the scenes tales, what some of the big names are really like and his uncut opinions on some of the goings on it boxing...
I bet he'd make you get them in though. Warren would be at the table opposite, making throat slashing gestures toward you. Hennessy would be watching through the window from the outside, probably wanking.
Imagine having a pint with creepy Adam Smith. Have a look at his facial expressions during the Whyte-Browne pressed, especially when Dill dropped the Chlamydia line. The best non-fighter to have a pint with would clearly be Kingpin Kalle.
Guy I grew up with has met him a few times, I really cant say why he has met him but some may be able to guess. Anyway he says that every time he has been in house he is really quiet and really doesnt say much at all. Maybe its cos he doesnt really know him. I should ask my mate if he has ever met Kalle !!!!
Calzaghe, Hatton He's not english but i really like the way Lucas Browne comes acoss in interviews and stuff bet hes got a few storys to tell
Id pick some of the old guard - Minter or Conteh ....although again it would probably have to be coffee with those gents....
you'd just have to keep reminding Eddie he was the most important person in the room so you didn't damage his ego though
