I have been thinking of this for awhile.

Everyone says that Vitaly coming back means that, should he beat Peter, there will never be an undisputed champion.

    Not so.

If the brothers divide the belts, 3-1, 2-2, whatever, then as soon as Vitaly hangs it up again, his belt(s) will be vacated, meaning that by technicality, Wladdy will be the undisputed champ.

Sure, they will be refilled. But Wladdy will be able to have it in his legacy that he was, at least briefly, the sole, undisputed, unified champ.

Just a thought. Hell, given that four belts are now being recognized, it may be the ONLY way to ever see an undisputed champ again.

It would be good for the IBHOF to tighten the criteria on what they recognise.

Straight out would be the WBA 'regular' strap, if it is actually in, and following that would be the WBO.

This would surely lead to more unified championships throughout boxing.

It seems though, that the bodies don't really give a **** as to who holds their belts. I will name a few examples:

WBA heavyweight title 2001-present (chump champs)
IBF light welterweight title 2006-present (**** mandatories forcing vacation)
    WBO all weights conception-present!

    How does that work exactly?

If Wlad is WBO-IBF champ and Vitali vacates his WBC-WBC straps, how is Wlad undisputed? It would be like Haye vacating all his belts at CW at once, Cunningham would not then be the undisputed CW champion would he?

    Highly unlikely scenario anyway.

The K Bro' dream is just another Cluster Headache for me.

The aim of it is to fracture the title! - as if the division needs help in ****ing itself up :patsch

No, reducing the titleholder count from four, down to three ( as it is, now) then eventually down to two...........how is that a goal to fracture the title?

They are cutting the amount of titleholders in half, as I see it. Then Vitali will probably fight on, no longer than a few fights, then he'll retire and it'll all be up to Wlad to get Vitali's title(s) and the the sole, unified champion.

BUt while Vitali is still fighting, and they both have the four titles between them, I think it'll be good for media exposure and should get the division some more interest. And then Vitali will probably retire shortly thereafter.

    Matter of perspective.

In theory the aim is for a fighter to win the title.

Now we have 2 guy trying to unify 2 belts (each).

Even if done correctly, there is no champion.
