....for all the stick they got on here over the last year or so for the Wlad and DeGale fights not happening, both fights are (hopefully) on and both fighters are on significantly improved purses/ contracts than they would have been on if they'd have signed to take the fights when initially offered them (Groves was offered £50,000 after Mag 7 and Haye after he beat Barratt when he has no title to bargain with).

So if I understand your point correctly, these fights are happening because we called them so many names. Good job everybody.

Not really Ed, I'm saying that perhaps the promoters/ managers and boxers themselves knew what they were doing when they didn't sign for the fights when people on here was howling for them to do it.

I got a ridiclious amount of stick for saying that.

If Groves had said he wanted to fight DeGale for a good payday it wouldnt be an issue. Haye has pretty much always said that.

This reminds me of the time we got Khan to fight Maidana.

When Haye signed to fight Wlad in '09 he was due to get somewhere between 250-500k and had to give 3 options to the Klits.

Now he's getting a 50/50 split with no options/rematch clauses.

Says it all really (but I did lose a shitload of money) he also has an arguably better chance now - Wlad's injury, Haye's experience with the Heavy's including winning a title in Germany and more Brits this time around

Even Groves has is on a hell of lot more than the joke offer, "career high payday" of £50,000 Warren offered him 9 months ago that people were saying he should jump at....;O)

:yep That was such an obvious publicity stunt from Warren, the only time he's negotiated a fight through press releases

It worked though mate. It made a lot of people think Booth and Groves were the reason the fight wasn't happening when it wasn't the case at all.

When Warren made the offer after the Mag 7 there were people in the RbR thread saying "great, we'll get to see the fight now".....I mean, come on!!:patsch

So what you're saying is, and I'm struggling with this notion to be honest, that not every rejection of a contract is a duck?

    Groundbreaking stuff for ESB :yep
